Hisense's 100 inch U8K is a bright room focused 4K QLED set with strong black levels and brightness for the 65 inch version, though the 98 inch and 100 inch sizes may behave differently. The 2023 model is described as around 1500 nits with 144 hertz refresh, and the Google TV interface can feel slow enough that basic mode or an external streaming device is preferred. Free installation was advertised and later waived in some cases, with 0 percent financing and a Google smart thermostat promo attached. The main hesitation is value, since the jump over cheaper alternatives is seen as modest for the price.
The U8K can deliver stronger black levels and brightness than the QM7K in real viewing comparisons.
The TV deal can become more attractive when free installation is waived through Best Buy service.
Google TV Basic Mode can speed up boot time by disabling internet-dependent smart features.
The U8 series is described as well-suited for bright-room viewing performance expectations.
The offer may not include free installation even when the listing claims it does.
A Hisense TV reportedly had a memory issue that led to avoiding the brand afterward.
Brightness and performance expectations can vary across 98-inch and 100-inch sets, even within the same series.
The TV may not be worth the price premium to some buyers compared with alternatives.

Must faster boot time, hope this helps others.
"Google TV Basic Mode is a setup option for smart TVs that provides a "dumb TV" experience by disabling internet-dependent smart features. It offers a faster, simplified interface focusing solely on live TV, pre-installed apps, and external HDMI devices, usable without a Google account or internet connection"

The google interface is known to be horrible for tracking you
Not worth 2X the price..if you ask me
It is somewhat better, but to my eyes $250-300..not $1500 better
It says it includes free installation.
Been waiting on this one to drop severely since December and it delivered. I don't think it'll last another step down but I could be wrong.
The u8 series is very highly rated for bright rooms, which we have one for our main TV room. We'll see if it actually delivers on that designation, if not we are okay eating $100 to have it picked up to be returned.
I would share the ratings as such but rtings recently paywalled all their scores. Great.
