Yes, it has a max cutting depth of 1‑9/16" to 1‑11/16" at 90°, and the standard 2x4 is 1.5"

This Ryobi ONE plus 18 volt two tool kit is a budget cordless starter set best for light cutting and basic home projects. The circular saw is reported to handle 2 inch boards and standard 2 by 4s, and the depth setting can make a difference on thicker cuts. The jigsaw gets less detail, but blade choice is mentioned as important for cleaner results. The main caveat is that the saw can feel underpowered in real use, and the price has also shown up higher at $64.57 instead of the advertised $51.66.

The kit price can be lower than the current listing price when the $52 deal is available.

The circular saw can reach enough depth at 90 degrees for standard 2x4 lumber thickness.

The circular saw can cut through 2-inch boards without issues in reported use.
mstrizak
The saw's depth setting can enable cutting thicker framing members when adjusted correctly.

The circular saw may fail to cut through in real use even when specifications suggest it should.

The circular saw can feel underpowered for cutting tasks in reported ownership experience.

Cutting 2x4 may require flipping the workpiece and using a different approach to match performance expectations.

Common Questions (3)

The saw's listed max cutting depth at 90° is about 1-9/16" to 1-11/16", which is enough for a standard 1.5" 2x4. In practice, some users report it cuts 2" boards and 2x8 work when the depth is set correctly, while others say their unit feels underpowered and won't make the cut cleanly.

The deal has been seen at the advertised $52 price, but some shoppers are seeing $64.57 instead, even when logged in and with no promo code field visible. If the lower price appears, it's a valid checkout price; otherwise the listing may have reverted.
weslacocubs SD455 soccercoach
A larger battery such as a 5Ah or 6Ah can improve the circular saw's performance. The saw is also sensitive to the depth setting, so checking the adjustment knob matters when it seems weak.

Can you return one and get 50% refund? I already have the saw so not sure if this single package or two package sold at a sale?

Great deal. I own both but the saw is under powered. Just a FYI.

You meant The circular saw? What battery size are you using? I heard a bigger size such as 5 or 6 improves it performance a lot. How's the jigsaw? I heard it doesn't cut straight. Both, people recommend the place blades for better performance

I have used the circle saw a fair bit. It gets through 2" boards with no issues.

It shows $64.57 for me even when I'm logged into my Home Depot account. I do not see a promo code to enter.
