Anyone know if we can expect to see the smaller vacuums on a good sale for auto detailing?

You need power for auto detailing, to get all that dirt out of the carpets. Get this and use detailing attachment. This is extremely useful, I think similar to mine that has the out port for blowing as well.

I need something smaller in this case. They do make Ridgid vacs with power in their smaller lineups, it's really just the waiting on a good price part for me.

Price is opposite the size... Smaller it is more expensive it gets. I hope you find a deal on powerful smaller one. I just took over my wife's old home vacuum for my car vacuums, and bought her a Dyson. I still use shopvac but I lost the attachments, and now attachments cost as much as new vac so I use the home vac for car.

Legit question: your comment seems intentionally vague, so are you implying this model is bad or good? Reviews seem favorable.

I have older model. Works great! Have for 8 years now. Heavy duty and hasn't reduced its power with dust: drywall, saw, concrete. It also handles water
very well.

I assumed they meant that it's physically huge. It also has a lifetime warranty. My 25 year old rigid shop vac is just now deciding to die, so at least that generation could be long lived. It's very loud tho (like all shop vacs except DeWalt afaik)
