Have you been there recently and stayed in their renovated rooms? I have on two separate occasions. I think you will be impressed by the renovations. This is a good deal.

Why would anyone do this to themselves? You couldn't pay me $200 to stay here. It's a rundown shithole.

Upgraded towers are nice. I can't speak to the other tower though.

My brother gets free rooms, food and beverage, airfare, hundreds in free play, and at some places a chauffeur to and from the airport and still does not go to Vegas. He's fine with spending thousands on gambling, however, doesn't tolerate being extorted and manipulated into thinking Vegas is a good experience. Nothing is affordable, everyone is a scammer, businesses charge a ton for basic junk, and getting from A to B is always a pain.

Now he gambles mainly in Colorado with the same perks.

When not in Colorado, he also takes back to back cruises out of Florida.
There's lots of ways to do Vegas without breaking the bank. Yes, lots of stuff is overpriced. You don't have to do the overpriced crap though.

Regardless, I do agree with the streets of Vegas being a bit of a slum. So many scammy hustlers.

It's gotten pretty gross and unsafe in that area over the past few years

He just hates the extortionate prices the most. Hard to justify a 20 dollar dinner that cost 80 bucks, even when comped, he simply doesn't like the insane prices and fees. There are lots to do, getting from one to the other is what bothers him. We went golfing last time we were there and it took over an hour each way.

The monks solicitating all the time and hustlers offering us stuff was honestly worse than 3rd world markets.

The $200 credit - could I use that in all the dining places that's listed on their website, or is it just specific ones?

We used to go fairly often but it's become way overpriced... even in old town. There are a few deals to be had but most everything is way too expensive. It used to be that if you were gambling and losing money, it was alright because everything else was cheap. Now everything is expensive on top of the money you lose on gambling. Plus the table minimums are higher everywhere, while the odds are worse. I went a few months back with a friend who had never been. I didn't even gamble and still spent way too much on drinks and food.

What makes you think this deal is for the renovated rooms instead of the shit rooms?

100% this. get a rental and head out of town. The only things we did in town was walk the strip for an hour or two before bed while getting drinks from the walgreens instead of casinos.
Rental jeep and off the the BLM land for a few days of off roading and site seeing was alot better trip.
