However, I'd probably recommend some kind of extended warranty if purchasing from Adorama given I wasn't alone with problems from Onkyo receivers of this generation. I eventually replaced it with a refurbished Denon AVR-S760H and that's been going on 2 years without any hiccups.

Unless you NEED/use pre outs, use two subs & would spend another $300 for Bass Control.

Highly recommend you look into A1EVO Express, it's a game changer for Audyssey room correction.
It gives you comparable Dirac Live performance that this includes for free!
There are a few version, Express is the easiest to use ime.

If so, what's the simplest version of that software that one can run, for neophytes? I'm in!
I always thought it required XT32, and the 760 range only has basic Audyssey.

Big upgrade but $749. if patient. I absolutely love mine.
I'm a fan of Onkyo for price points especially if you are patient. This is a solid value at this price point.
Dirac Live does not offer their Subwoofer/bass correction/integration.
That is all in their Bass Control room correction.
It uses the receivers bass management to calculate the sub(s) into the calibration.
