Photography thread - for Schoob

Schoob asked for people to post their photography in a thread.
I'm not a pro, but I take some good photos and I have a sincere passion for photography. Soon, I hope to learn more and take some great photos.
Since Schoob wants to see a thread about photography, here are some good ones that I took of Luray Caverns last weekend.
As you can imagine, it's tough to get good photos in a cave, but this is my favorite view of Dream Lake inside the caverns:

Here's the formation that I think looks like a little resting sherpa carrying his pack. Or, if you look at the back of the formation, it kind of looks like Vlad Dracul.

This is my favorite picture that I took of the Wishing Well:

Here's one of the ceiling of one of the caves:

And one of some contrasting stone:

using photoshop/gimp, put the one with the nice moon on the base layer. create a new layer and put the nice clouds pic on top of the other layer. use the eraser tool to erase the top layer where the moon is and maybe around it if the glare shows obviously. might have to work in some custom gradients to make it look somewhat natural. in the end, you get the top layer of the clouds with the nice-looking moon from the bottom layer.
note: i have never done this myself (my wife does the image processing), but i believe this is how she does it.
Other than that I have no ideas....
I think I need to get some more "time off" from the lounge and add a delay chip to trigger it a little bit later as the egg is more broken.

I love the pics! Very...very
You'll just have to take time away from something else besides the lounge...like work or something.

I'll probably have a try 3 later. I want to cover the foil with black paper so it's not as reflective... (I still need the foil to "close" the electrical connection)

I may need to look at them a lot today.
First pic was f/13, ISO-100, 30second exposure time. I used a 6-stop ND filter and a CPL (though in hindsight the CPL was completely useless
Second picture was a blend of 2 images (blended in photoshop), both were at f/13, ISO-100. One was 30 seconds, and one was 90 seconds (where the log and the foreground are "brighter"). Both shots had the 6-stop ND on it, and I think here I realized that I didn't really need the CPL
No flash on either shot. Obviously tripod and remote release (I think Nikon is also limited to 30 seconds if you don't use bulb mode? And with bulb a remote release prevents camera vibrations)
I tried to do the first one as an HDR (I had the 3 bracketed shots), but it looked like crap, so I obviously didn't post it
ETA: The 2nd picture was also later in the evening (between the two pics, I took a bunch of pictures with flash of my wife, which I'm obviously not posting on SDs
Was this more info than you wanted to know?

I've got to drag the kiddos out for a session soon, whenever the weather decides to cooperate.
