Some just like to drink..
Carry on, ill read whatever you want to post when i get back.
I love how they kept going on blaming genes and hormones for weight gain. Almost sympathetic.
Yet for alcoholics who are also plagued with the same things... interesting.
The fact is, there are mental issues that people don't want to acknowledge. Kinda like back in the old days, if someone had a mental issue put them away in a looney bin, burn them at the stakes.
Welcome to reality, mental issues do exist and cause physical symptoms..

i.e people in the Arctic or certain parts of Alaska.
OP lives in NYC according to location.

I also hope HE looks in the mirror and plucks those eyebrows. Not that it would help much.
See you lurking again down there....what's wrong....date stand you up?
So, since the diagnosis for SAD is even more stringent than the diagnosis for say, bipolar II or MDD, is it thought that those disorders are over-diagnosed as well? Very interesting train of thought...

And would i say depression in general is over diagnosed? Depending on who you ask. Yes it is.
Pharmaceutical companies make money just by pushing drugs. So do the psychologists who treat the depression.
Well OP, I'm hoping that you are getting counseling or have a good pdoc or something and this is not a self diagnosis.
If you are feeling down during winter, I'm with everyone else on the physical exercise. If you really want to try the light therapy, they are quite expensive. I guess you can give it a shot
I just hope you have someone qualified helping you out. Don't depend on the lounge

Did you go outside today?
Was there any sun?
Did you go out yesterday?
Was there any sun?
Unless the answer to both of those is yes, no, yes and no, respectively dont give me that bullshit about NYC being a dark and gloomy place.
