Go outside and walk if possible. Physical activity + sunlight will really help. Hard to do if it's freezing outside, though!

We haven't seen the sun in a week and I can tell it's affecting me. It came out briefly today and I ran outside to do my run so I wouldn't miss it!

I was told from a professor that you can use the same plant lights instead of buy those expensive kinds. Maybe you want to try that?

the bottom line is anyone who gets depressed because of a certain season has a chemical problem inside their body. why the fark would i get depressed just because the sun isnt out all day? doesnt even make sense. theres some underlying issues that need addressed.

Facepalm seriously? there are chemical nutriants that your body can absorb from sunlight.

Facepalm why do I try to speak common sense with you? Bonk

Melatonin levels: The change in season can disrupt the balance of the natural hormone melatonin, which plays a role in sleep patterns and mood.

It is a disorder. It doesn't have to make sense to you. You don't suffer from it so you have no idea.

Telling someone to get on medication because it doesn't make sense to you- is not a valid point.

What may fix one thing could screw up another.

id question whether or not the OP actively works out/exercises. if they do not want to take medicine id say start working out. winter time can be depressing for a lot of people. for me i work out the most during winter and slack off during the summer...not sure why but thats how it goes?

I don't know what you are talking about. I could live in a cave and it wouldn't bother me.

so what are you doing out of it now?

Also, if you did live in a cave without lighting you would be blind in less than a week.

Exercise is good, but wont cure a disorder.
