kay... no wegmans here unfortunately, but they sound fab.
whole foods will also clean up chicken or fish for you. couple of months ago they had a great sale on whole sea bass. now i cannot cook whole fish, the sight of the fish staring at me gives me the willies.
so i asked them to clean and fillet for me. they did! no cost. deboned, filleted. saved me so much time and effort. i have picked up packs of organic chicken breast and asked meat counter to marinade for me. same thing - no cost! they do it and then wrap it up for me. by the time i get home, unload groceries and put away perishables, the chicken is happily marinaded and ready to go in oven. very handy on busy days.

raw milk/cheese - would be so awesome. i looked into it, but don't have any organic raw milk dairies close to me. would be a 1.5 drive each way atleast. too much. i would do it occassionally if I'm making cheese from scratch, but otherwise it is just too cumbersome in terms of the driving time. you are lucky!

as for chicken tenders... what are you doing with them, frying or oven baking?

I keep trying to talk my neighbor into getting a milk cow. They have some horses so why not throw a cow in the mix? She is the one from whom I get my free range, no antibiotic or any other crap eggs. I can look out my window and see the chickens sometimes. (They aren't quite a block a way). My husband is in serious winter egg mourning. Their laying slows way down so they don't have enough to sell.

Hi all, just popping in to say Hi. Been thinking about you all. Spent the weekend doing more painting. I swear it feels like the painting will never end. So far, I've hired painters to paint the Living Room, Foyer, Hallway, Stairwell and upstairs hallway. I've painted the breakfast nook (several times, lol), the den and downstairs bath.

They do have the pumps on amazon.. only a few of them are prime eligible though.. my sister is trying to get me a couple from her starbucks hookup! The ones on amazon specifically state for torani bottles so they should work

Thank you! You know I realized 2 things through this 13 month divorce... 1) who your TRUE friends are and 2) you are stronger than you think you are. I should have left YEARS ago I was so unhappy but I stayed for the kids and the fact that I didnt think I could do it on my own. But you know what.. I am... and I am doing good! nikayla... have you been salt water gargling? warm water, salt, mix, take a sip, toss head back and work the water as low back in your throat as you can and get the air gurgling through it. toss out. repeat with next sip.

vitamin c... is fine to take 500mg pills multiple times a day when you are sick. your body needs it. you don't want to take high doses indefinitely for years and years cos it can cause kidney stones or increase the tendency towards them at least. but a few thousand milligrams a day when you are sick? nahhh, no big deal. in fact, it's a good deal. :D

one other thing: since you are taking the regular vitamin c and not ester c, make sure to take it with food, cos it can be irritating to sensitive stomachs since it is acidic.

dry thing that your grandmum gave you - you sure it wasn't dried ginger? dried ginger looks like dried mango but lighter/pale yellowish and is pretty mild, especially if candied. that is another thing you can do - if raw ginger is too sharp/pungent for you, et some candied ginger. look for the kind that isn't incredibly encrusted in sugar (too sweet, increases nausea for me), and make sure it doesn't have other additives.

ginger root keeps well in the fridge for weeks and weeks so we always some in the veggie drawer. if you have a trader joe's near you, they usually have a saran wrapped square tray of organic ginger root for 2.99-3.99. has 2-3 really large pieces. even if you were to eat it everyday, that much ginger would last you a few weeks, so it's a good value.

I just bought one of those Christmas-themed pillows with the blanket inside. They finally went to 75% off at one store. Dunno why they didn't go with the rest of the Christmas merchandise. These are the ones that have "snuggle up", or a snowflake pattern, or Christmas stockings on them. 3 or 4 different motifs.

Anyway, how the H-E-double chopsticks do you get that blanket back into the pillow neatly? It's all lumpy and stuffed in there. I tried folding it a couple of different ways, but same result.

Had to hit the other side of town to pick up my son, so I decided to run into my regular target.. Got a few of the usuals, but had a weird check out experience.. Seemed like we got some kind of update, but before I would ever claim that, I would definitely want to try again.. Basically 2 different coupons I used beeped after the third like coupon and needed a k1 - dropped to the bottom.. But, another coupon in the same family, different amount, went through beepless.. which would lead me to believe they are limiting to 3 like per transaction.. But, then when I used my halls bogo coupons, I was not able to use another coupon with it.. I was getting 4 halls, and normally am able to use 2 bogo and 2 of the .55 off.. this time, the register wouldn't take it and he couldn't k1. It kept popping up asking for coupon amount, then when he entered it said "amount exceeds" I had no barcode issues, double checked when I got home.. Could have possibly been a right side/left side scan issue, but he tried atleast 4 times.. I finally told him not to worry about it.. Any ideas?

It is ok Nik, I have stocked up some, but i really miss the $1 off any Whole foods coupons...I have seen those peelies too, but in wegmans those pasta sauce comes to $3.99/jar, still with that yellow peelie it is pretty pricy, when the WF coupons were around, i would be able to stack WF coupons and MQ, so it comes little cheap...

i first started buying organic produce a a few years ago when i learned of the dirty dozen list. have you heard of it? it's revised every year - a list of the 12 items with the highest pesticide levels. strawberries are almost always near the top of that list. yuck.


we don't do microwave dinners either. some of the trader joes frozen foods are liked by the tribe here, so when we get them (again as occasional treats or backups) we tip em out of the plastic try and heat in a microwave safe bowl.

I We had wanted to stay over night but we are have problems with the renter we sublet the basement apartment to so we will have to evict him in the morning. Talk about people who take advantage! I have been so kind for so long and helped them out so much with giving them tuns of food and lots of stockpile swag. It is times for the gravy train to end no more! He can't keep a job and has been only paying a little bit of rent here and there and is now as of feb 1 3k behind on rent! Plus we have found out the guy goes to the methadone clinic every moring and has issues that way, no wonder he can't keep a job and his wife left. Did I mention I HATE renting? We have had some doosies and mostly because DH won't listen to me when I say NO NOT THOSE PEOPLE!!!! He always wants to help people out.

Tootsie, this is for you. It's the SW Ramie in the breakfast nook. In my house it's showing green or maybe I'm a bit colorblind. Sometimes I see colors that no one else does. Oh, and ignore the cords. I haven't gotten around to tying them up yet. Probably next year I'd love to see a pic of your room to see what other colors it shows.

Here's a quick not so good snap of the bathroom color. There must have been 20 years of paint on the walls, most of them various colors of blues which must have look horrible. I think playing off the tans in the border and floor tiles is the best. Never thought I'd have the color 'bagel' in a bathroom I'll post more pics when I'm done sprucing up the room. ie, when I cover the hole in the wall

See, I told you I see colors others dont. My house in no way looks like a magazine. It's horrible. The only rooms that look decent are the ones I show you, the rest look like a cyclone came through. Really. One room is nothing but totes and target bags, the other room is nothing but a bed and my room, well...it's a disaster and it's next on the list of things to do.

That is awesome that you have such great inlaws... must be REALLY nice!! So sorry about your renter... My DH is the same way...let's help everyone but then it ends up costing us in the long run... so sorry!! I always tell my dh no... does he listen!?! NOPE... oh well... Hope you can recoup the back rent and get an amazing tentant in there
