do i need to have a talk with your DH?
This is my fav....http://www.facebook.co
We have a rose bush on our family farm that is over 100 years old. My father's family brought it over from England with them when they settled over here. I always thought I might try to make some perfume from those roses.
That was beautiful!!!
Did you reach 1000 with your face book??

OMG, I just scarfed one down. Best damn corndogs EVAH and only 150 calories!! HURRY, Publix has them BOGO this week!!
didn't get a chance to cook dinner last nite so that will be dinner tonite. was going out to fridays for lunch to use dh's reward coupon on the last day and the tire looked really low. so spent the whole afternoon getting it checked out and lunch became dinner.
since the gateway bike had such good reviews, was thinking to get it for myself and sell my hardly used bike to sil. decided to go to the further store that said *available*. it was also full price! also decided not to pursue it any further. bike is truly a city bike, thin tires, very retro looking. we have a canal w/ tow paths near us and our town is slowly piecing together another gravel bike path. my current bike is a cruiser and has the wider mountain bike tires that are better on gravel but wide seat and wide handle bars for comfort. i did see that there are bikes w/ aluminum frames at target and if one ever goes on 75% off clearance, i would try to upgrade. aluminum is lighter than steel but more expensive.
not much good 75% off clearance left at that store. finally found the bell radar bike helmet for dh but his head is too big! circo slumber bag is really cute and want to find another or 2.
no luck in clothing again. last friday tried on a bunch of sweaters and i wouldn't even pay the 2.50 for those merona rib t-neck, crew and v-neck sweaters. the material was so horrible! one mossimo cableknit sweater fit ok but was only 30% off and was rather itchy so not cheap enough to put up w/. the knit t-necks looked and felt good but only 30% off. last nite they were 50% but i want a few so i'll wait for 75% off. one store had a ton so i'm pretty confident.
i saw the valentines day and st paddy's holiday tees and they used nicer fabric this yr. so i'll be chasing those down at 90% off to upgrade. they also shrink so i've found large and esp xl fits good.
a couple posts i meant to reply to and was way too sleepy at the time.
Bunnies was the eat one meal a day type of person. Bunnies got a little chubby cause of that. Bunnies found out that not eating will make you chubby, cause your metabolism slows down to nuttin.
Bunnies is proud of herself AND the best part..the family didn't and hasn't starved because of my having an extra meal of the day.
Bunnies is going to work on having breakfast starting this spring.
maybe we can be breakfast buddies. something i need to work on also. 2 yrs ago i was eating breakfast every day. oatmeal in the winter, then honey bunches of oats in the summer, i think b/c they had 2.00 coupons. so i bought a whole bunch of cereal expecting to eat it during the summer but dunno why, just fell out of eating breakfast. trying to get back, but it's very sporadic.
i'm sure it's b/c i developed a nasty habit of late nite snacking in front of the computer so i'm not hungry in the morning. trying to break the habit but it's tuff in the winter when i love eating crackers and other salty carbs. those ny style pita chips and bagel chips from the 3.99 q were calling my name last nite! i need to rotate the stock in my pantry so i ate way too many triscuits instead
i first started buying organic produce a a few years ago when i learned of the dirty dozen list. have you heard of it? it's revised every year - a list of the 12 items with the highest pesticide levels. strawberries are almost always near the top of that list. yuck.
then a few years into it, learned the principle that generally you should pick organic for any thin-skinned fruits and vegetables as well as anything leafy since they absorb a lot more of the pesticides/fungicides etc, and also pick organic for any root veggies since they are completely engulfed in soil. so for example if one had to do a mix of organic and conventional produce, strawberries organic, pineapple you could do conventional, salad greens and herbs always organic, ditto potatoes. and so forth.
we eventually transitioned to being all organic. as a general rule, i do not buy conventionally grown produce. if an organic version is not available or too expensive or not good quality, we will go without. on occasion if someone is really craving something, i will make an exception and if the item is not available in an organically grown version, i will make an exception and get it for one-time eating, like a pineapple, or sometimes okra (i have never found organic okra, so now we no longer eat it often). but i hold that line very firm.
packaged foods - it has to be organic, and if no organic version is available, has to be free of all artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, additives, sweeteners. and even then, i read the ingredient list on all shelf goods and packaged goods. if i find any ingredients that are not straightforward kitchen ingredients, or sound like they belong in a chemistry lab, that food will not make it into my house. no canned food at all.
we don't do microwave dinners either. some of the trader joes frozen foods are liked by the tribe here, so when we get them (again as occasional treats or backups) we tip em out of the plastic try and heat in a microwave safe bowl.
it sounds restrictive, but once you get used to buying and eating freshly made food with clean ingredients, it's super easy. and if you then try any of the conventional packaged foods, the flavor plus how you feel after a meal is so different from the freshly prepared organic stuff, you never go back.
yes like you, i've been combining mqs plus store sales at wf as well as other grocery chains to get the stuff for cheap. it is entirely doable. you just have to train your mind to look for it. and i also look for MM cat deals, and then use the cats to buy organic pantry staples. that frees up some $ for produce, organic meats, and wild seafood. sigh - we do have to work so hard to get clean food these days.
i'm slowly starting the transition. i try to remember to check the labels for any partly hydrogenated fats even when the label says zero b/c that can be a white lie. so i basically don't buy keeblers anymore b/c i couldn't find any that didn't have trans fats and i got tired of looking. i used to love their crackers. i buy the organic soy milk from costco. i choose the organic treeripe oj when it's on sale. i pretty much buy whole wheat crackers and bread now. have to be careful b/c when it says *wheat* doesn't mean it's whole wheat, just a little whole wheat way down the list. i don't buy farm-raised atlantic salmon anymore. i bought wild silver-brite but maybe you need to cook it differently b/c dh refused to even finish eating it and dumped it in the garbage. i don't microwave in plastic, even those steam-fresh frozen veggies. i take it out of the bag and either cook it on the stove top or nuke it in a glass bowl. i prefer to heat and cook on the stove b/c i think it doesn't cool down as fast for some reason.
unfortunately, cheap to free food w/ coupons is just so tempting. i have started to just say no. i stopped using the bakery q b/c we only had the white demi-loaves at the expanded target. i'd rather pay a lot more money and get whole wheat.
and dh being hugely reluctant to balking isn't helping. so i end up compromising. but i think the diet/healthy eating we started in oct has had an effect on him that he isn't complaining about. he's noticed he lost weight b/c his clothing is looser. he didn't know how much b/c he couldn't figure out how to use the new scale . omg, it's digital and you just stand on it

That is all I can think of right now....I think the RA thread is such BS, they put up with the constant asking and reasking of the same mother farking questions over and over and over again but I still wade thru it all.
My niece is sick today so I just have my dd. Took the opportunity to get some stuff done. Finally had all the stuff needed for taxes so I got those done

All of a sudden pineapple upside down cake has popped into my head and it just won't leave. Must be the cake pan talk. It would be especially good with the beef and noodles that I am making for dinner tomorrow.... I can't have those either. I gotta make 'em, roll 'em, cut 'em, and cook 'em, but I cannot eat 'em. I will be here whining tomorrow. We shall plan a pity party. Wait, parties usually involve food. We shall plan a pitiful party.
I have spent hours online searching lakes and resorts in Minnesota trying to decide where we are going fishing this year. I think we are going to go early spring this time, probably the last week of May. Still haven't decided. We are sort of contemplating going back to where we went last year. The fishing was pretty good (and then there was the best pizza we have ever had) but we like to check out different areas and see different stuff. So, I don't know. I need a magic crystal ball to tell me where the pan fishing will be excellent this spring. I told hubby I was about to print a map and throw a dart.
