Hockey is back! After a summer of tragedy, it's time to drop the puck!
Who's the Cup favorite? Who made the best off season moves? When will Crosby return? When will Doughty sign?
And to start off the season, Mike Modano officially retired yesterday.

OCTOBER 12TH, CLIVEFROG, OCTOBER 12TH! Against NYR, interestingly. Hm. Ugh, the home opener seems so far away... someone speed up time for me, please.
Rumors are flying that Luongo will get traded. Two places mentioned are Florida and Toronto.

As for my beloved Pens,
Rumors on the street is that Crosby is going to sign soon for a 9-10 year deal at $9/year. Love the kid, but that is a bit long with the issues he has been having. Also talks of Pitt making a push at Parise since they are clearing up all this cap space, but I think everyone is making a push at him, as mentioned earlier.

Pittsburgh won't have enough to sign Parise, and at the same time he'd be crazy to sign there. Pitt has 2 elite centers already, and Staal didn't want to sign long term becuase he knew he wouldn't get as much playing time. Parise is going to go to the highest bidder. I could see a team like Florida pushing for him. They need an elite center (Fleischmann just isn't going to cut it). Phoenix might as well since they may lose Shane Doan to free agency. Same with a team like Winnipeg or Calgary - they all need centers.
July 1 is going to be interesting to say the least!
