You threw away what?!

I decided to put my log book on this forum so you can all see the crazy amount of free stuff in good condition that I find while walking my dogs at night in NYC. My girlfriend and I recently moved into a new apartment on the Upper East Side and we had been noticing how much brand new (or antique) stuff is left out on the curb.
So for fun (and because we are both as cheap as they come), we started grabbing stuff that is in good condition. Either we use it, try to sell it, or give it away.
Oh, and keep in mind, bottles and cans have a $0.05 deposit on them so we return those.
We just started keeping track, here is what we have so far:
6/18 - 18 books, 1 milk crate, 4 deposit cans ($0.20)
6/19 - Aero-Swiss Humidifier (Valued over $100), Keurig Coffee Machine ($120), Small Dust Buster, Best Fitness Leg Developer (Over $100), 11 deposit cans ($0.55)
6/20 - 7 deposit cans ($0.35)
6/21 - 37 bottle deposit cans (took the dogs on a long walk this afternoon) ($1.85)
That's the last four days, I'll update this as we get new finds.
Anyone else do this either out of necessity or as a hobby?
Stephen

Did i say that was a tiny kitchen ?

Did you ever get that Keurig fired up?
Yes, the kitchen is tiny but it is NYC and that is par for the course.
You know, I have had that on the backburner on my project list for some reason. But now that you've brought it up, I will pick up some vinegar tonight and see what I can pull off.
And exactly -- most New Yorkers don't cook anyway. They don't need kitchen space.
Edited to add links to info on HP 1040/1050 recall, in case anybody else needs that info.

Yeah here is the list of the models you can get rebates for: http://faxrecall.hpord
I just got back from Best Buy and feel like a moron. I wrote down 5500 series on my notepad and stupidly forgot to double check my phone to make sure the 5520 was on the list which is the one I ended up buying as it was on sale for $109. I have to call up HP and find out if there is a way to make that work, or else I have to go all the way back to BB to return it and grab another. Its a hike in this weather.
Which one do you like?

Edited to add: Oh, btw, I know you said the fax machine you found came with an empty ink cartridge. But don't forget you can recycle that ink cartridge at Staples for $2 in Staples Rewards... and then you can add that $2 to your log of dumpster diving monies!

Great minds think alike!! Staples and Best Buy are in the same building up by me, so I brought the cart over for the $2 . They had a deal on printer paper Staples Multipurpose 500 sheets (reg 5.99) that it is $3 after MIR. So you better believe I got a couple of those!

We live in a decent sized one bedroom in a good neighborhood. We pay 2125/month and that includes our electricity, heat, water and sewer.
Keep in mind, we are in a 6 floor walkup as well.

That's good exercise!
If you don't mind me asking, what neighborhood do you live in?
