This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.
All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. If anyone knows anything about benefits thorugh the VA for long-term care can you PM me. I don't even know where to begin with all this.
I love you all, and have enjoyed so much the time we spend here. Right now, I have a house full of family downstairs and I need to be with them. I'm sure I'll find my way back here in the late hours when I am alone and in need of conversation.
I'll update when I can. You guys are the absolute best!
Teri, thanks a ton for the PM and I'm thinking about you!

Rainy tuesdays and no coffee would suck.
on a completely un-important note: My Zhu zhu hamster is dead on arrival. I wanted to get batteries in it so it would be ready to wrap for dd's Christmas present (trying to get everything done much sooner this year. last year, I was grumpy through December
Didn't read deals thread - anything important/interesting?
I went yesterday and had a decent shopping experience. I would've done better if it weren't for throwing things in the cart that weren't really planned (like an 8.00 magazine for DD!!! I didn't even realize how much it was til I got home!)
They were out of the roaster and buffet server, but they did have lots of the tables. They did have a few of the crock pot servers, but I forgot to take a good look at 'em. Has anyone had any of these items? Are they worth it? Also, according to the store, several of the non-ST stores had the roaster (in multiples - like 6-8!) I think it was kind of silly to send 'em in such quantity to those stores since you have to purchase a turkey to get the gift card with it! I had been tempted to ask if I bought it at one store could I return and rebuy it at ST - but I chickened out! I also forgot to try the Red Bull.

ETA: I also used the bakery TQ for the first time. They had brownies and bars for 1.50, but didn't try that. I used it on the 5 pk scones mini tub. YUM!! No beeps and auto'd. All IP TQ's showed up as 0.00, but deducted the right amount (I watched). It's kind of disconcerting to see that 0.00 though.
Oh, I had found a tearpad somewhere (can't remember where exactly - sorry) for .50/2 Kraft Marshmallows. Went great with the 1.00/2 TQ. The marshmallows are 1.02 for the mini's and .92 for regular at my ST.
I also saw a peelie on the MP pasta, but don't remember the exact details (wish I'd wrote some down). I *think* it was for free pasta when you buy Ragu (or 3 Ragu - that number seems to stick in my head.)
I also used the BOGO TQ for fancy feast cat appetizer, but it has a shorty bar code. Weird thing is that the .42 cans don't. TQ automatically deducted the right amount though, so that was good.
I also got 4 chinet plates. I had bogo tearpad for the plates, and then peelies for free dessert plates when you buy the dinner plates. I tried to use 1 bogo tearpad and 2 peelies, but was only allowed to use one peelie because with the bogo tearpad q I was only "buying" one. *shrug* I wasn't gonna argue much - free after gc works here.
I did the lunchmeat/free cheese combo again. Wish I'd been doing that more often. I didn't pay attention, though, and so the cashier missed the free cheese coupon. I'm going to take the baggie with intact coupon back to the store and get my refund. I do have to say that I *hate* going to the deli counter. They guy that is always there makes it feel like you are bothering him - whether you are getting 1 thing of lunchmeat or several. It's kind of frustrating and annoying. I can understand having a bad day, but it's like that every time I've gone. Additionally, if things are that bad, or you hate your job that bad that you can't be at least cordial to a customer and force a small smile then you really ought not be at work! (well, that's my opinion about it anyways) It makes me want to avoid the deli counter (and I usually do until a TQ comes out). They are also very slow. I can count on spending a good 20-30 minutes there if no one is in front of me if I want to get my typical 3-4 meats and 1 cheese.
Oh - granny smith, braeburn apples, and another kind (gala, I think) were .99/lb. Green giant baby carrots - 1.50/2lb baggie.

So all that to say - my shopping plans have been derailed for the time being.
And I know this is so trivial compared to the heartache some are facing here, but has anyone had to buy tires recently? We HAVE to get two new front tires on our van before we go away for Thanksgiving, and Joseph just called me with the quote. Prices have gone up over $40 PER TIRE since we last bought one!!!
Oh, and hubby got cleared for the part-time job!! YAY!!!
