I think asparagus is bisgusting too vomit
so right now what does he eat on a typical day?
Asparagus is yummy My dad has a pretty substantial patch and we even eat it raw it is so tender and sweet.

Foods El Jay will eat (i.e. put in his mouth, successfully chew, swallow and keep down):

Breakfast: scrambled eggs (sometimes plain sometimes with pureed black or pinto beans), french toast (heavy on the egg), waffles with protein powder, organic cereal with rice milk

Lunch: all natural deli meat, PB&J, plain pasta

Dinner: plain red meat (steak, ground beef - I grind my own), plain chicken, sometimes fish depending on the kind, plain pork roast or chops

Fruits: bananas, pears, sometimes mango, sometimes kiwi, watermelon like a mug!

Veggies: green beans, he will eat the baby food pouches of sweet potato/green beans/peas but won't touch them whole. He literally gags if he puts it in his mouth.

Picky child due to sensory issues + dietary sensitivities/allergies = a quandary when I play the "what's for dinner" game.

Have you tried not using processed meats? I'm assuming the deli meat is processed.

i said i wanted to help him in the post prior to that as well, or were you too busy using the Secret smiley to read it? he's not a charity case, he's a guy that i care about. we have lots in common, we laugh together and we understand each other's quirks. i like him, he's a good friend, and i just want to figure out how to help him communicate better so he doesn't keep randomly pissing me off. because i know he doesn't realize that he's pissing me off. he truly doesn't get it most of the time.

here's another Secret for ya.

House of the Rising Sun and Fortunate Son went over pretty well. I'm still having some performance anxiety (everyone go ahead and snicker now), but not with every song, which is weird (just sweating/nervousness, makes me goof up on chord changes and stuff sometimes). It turns out I can't sing Hallelujah in a low register with enough volume, so I'll have to try moving it up some. And this time after I did Requiem, someone asked if it was a Pogues song Big Grin
how many people play? who picks the songs- do you take turns?
what if someone who totally sucked showed up
hey guy's
I'm here to rock Punk
and were off key and was really nice but truly sucked
how would that be handled?

Just one of my idiosyncrasies. Sometimes being in a social environment will do that to me.
I limit my interaction with strangers in public, because, well, they piss me off with their stupidity most of the time.

You gotta put AG first, worry about getting yourself and your head straightened out and the right one will come along.

Trust me, I am there right now. Tried for 20 years to "help" J. Guess what?!?!?! He is the only one that can help himself and unfortunately, he does not care to.

Dammit!

The whole broth thing would go over like a lead balloon with him. I found a list of recommended foods and...

RECOMMENDED FOODS

Almonds, including almond butter and oil - salicylates
Apples - SUPER high in salicylates
Apricots, fresh or dried - SUPER high in salicylates
Artichoke, French - won't even think about touching
Asiago cheese - dairy allergy
Asparagus - says they are "bisgusting"
Aubergine (eggplant) - could try
Avocados, including avocado oil - has texture problems, gags when he tries to eat
Bananas (ripe only with brown spots on the skin) - ok
Beans, dried white (navy), string beans and lima - ok
beans properly prepared
Beef, fresh or frozen - sometimes enjoys
Beets or beetroot - throws up when he attempts to eat
Berries, all kinds - SUPER high in salicylates
Black, white and red pepper: ground and pepper - too spicy
corns
Black radish - what the heck is this?
Blue cheese - dairy allergy...plus I am sure he would say is stinky!
Bok Choy - won't try
Brazil nuts - possible
Brick cheese - dairy allergy
Brie cheese - dairy allergy
Broccoli - "bisgusting" to him
Brussels sprouts - won't try
Butter - dairy allergy

Yep, I have surmised that I am pretty much farked when it comes to his diet!
I actually made asparagus last week. One daughter ate it, the other didn't. I never liked it as a child.

What I do with my kids is give them a giant plate of something that I know they won't like. They say they don't like it. So I tell them they just have to take a couple bites and then they don't have to eat anymore. They think they are pulling something over on mom when they aren't. The thought is that they will eventually like it.

Why so many cheesecakes? Huh
That's just his thing. I think his job is stressful at times and making cheesecake helps him unwind. His co-workers reap the benefits. He mention he didn't have anything to do this weekend or next. I mentioned that next weekend is Cheese Fest (yes this is Wisconsin) He happened to look it up and they are having a cheese cake contest. So he is entering that.

Secret I was actually just trying to mess with you.

But what you said reminds me a lot of my MIL, and it's not that she doesn't know what she's doing because she does the same thing. It's that she's manipulative, and she's been using that tactic against my bride and my oldest since the day i met her. They both think she doesn't know what she's doing, but she does. And the reason she keeps doing it is because it makes the recipient try harder to identify emotionally with her and do what she wants them to do.

You're a lot closer to this than i am though so i may be completely off base. i just wanted to advise you that my MIL does the same thing and she knows what she's doing.

I just like spending time with him, and I hate the idea that he's gonna piss me off one day to the point that it ruins the possibility of us just being friends, let alone bed-friends. :sigh:

OK onto greener pastures. F1, lay down on my couch and tell me why you were feeling overwhelmed last night. There now, just tell me all your feels. You can do it. Bowdown
