As a insurance agent what I can tell the difference is after march 2014. All existing health care plan will stop and people will be forced to purchase Aca new plans. And I ran some quotes based in my zip code with my birthday. Seems all the PPO plans monthly premium below $100 will be gone in exchange to these 200+ Aca plans. Sure the coverage is better but seems to me the monthly premium burden for healthy young people will be much higher; yes these plans will certainly helps who used to cant afford health insurance, but it also makes people used can afford insurance to be difficult to afford anymore.

IMO a reform like this will only hurts the mid-class hard working people, as always.

All my local docs are either retiring, going concierge or taking cash only as a result of the "hottest deal, ever" aka Obamacare. Thanks to the law, I lost my primary care physician.
All your local doctors? Really? That sounds like something your local news station would have reported. Care to share a link? Or are you just making stuff up as you go along?

As one of the 7 million or more, I look forward to this but I am going to give them some months to work out the bugs.

Wish they had this for my cats.

It's coming...

It's gonna be called MichelleCare

Yes, about 55% of the population get health care through their employer and trending down. Costs have been rising and employers have been moving away from offering it, which is why the Obamacare or some form of regulation was coming either way. It's just odd that some people put the cart before the horse and pretend Obamacare came first, then it started moving in that direction. Businesses don't want to pay money or benefits, or at least as little as possible of each, which is nothing new here.

The odd part is since Obamacare is supposed to encourage employers to drop their coverage, seems odd that the law fines these large employers $2000 per employee if they don't provide it. Previously they could drop their coverage and not pay a fine. That would seem like a new disincentive to dropping coverage, but in this Obama paradox adding a fine for not doing something actually encourages you to do it.

so since businesses don't want to provide health care for their employees the solution is to force the employees to purchase their own health care?

that logic = fail

US is 38th in the world in healthcare (behind countries like costa rica and morocco) but first in spending per capita

Don't know why everyone calls it Obamacare, the current legislation is just a shell of what was proposed.

Not sure where you came up with 55%. I heard it was more like 55.21% but I'm sure someone was counted twice. Anyway, now is going to be 0% and ppl will need a part time on top of the full time job they had just to pay for the healthcare. "Golf clap ". I never seen a democratic elected president working so well with corporate America.

What was preventing them from dropping coverage before? And if you are losing benefits as you suggest, did you ask for a raise? Either way it's a free market, you only get insurance if you negotiate it from your employer so whether you do or don't get insurance or what you do or don't get paid is up to your individual bartering skills. It's the system we've built to give you more freedom.
LMAOCrylolLaugh Seriously? Not everybody is in a profession where they CAN bargain with the boss for benefits. In my state(PA), we have a thing called at-will employment. It basically means you can quit or they can fire you for any reason as long as it's not sex, race or any other class protected.

So you don't like that there's no health bennies? There's the door. There's a hundred people behind you waiting to take your spot who likely won't make a fuss.

Hell. My most recent job I had was working for minimum wage(because admittedly I did fark up as a kid and told off a LOT of bosses and can't get much elseFrown) and I was lucky if I was getting 15-20 hours a week at most.

Yet I also went back to school for medical coding, which I had read up on and saw was a decent enough profession to get into. The only thing I missed was that it takes years worth of experience or a certification(neither of which I had after graduating from the one local colleges program for it) in order to get a job in the field.

Employers hiring for this sort of position won't even look twice at you without either or in most cases both. So now I'm stuck in a Catch 22, where I need a job for money and I would really love to use the education I went back for, but I have a certificate that I could just as well use to wipe my ass with at this point since it's useless.

So I take whatever I can get at this point, which isn't much in this area.

And now this bullshit law means I'm going to have to end up broke in order to pay for something I don't need or want at the moment. If I'm sick I wait till the day the local university has their free clinic open and get seen there. I pay small amounts of cash if I need testing that they don't do on site. But those days are over. Now I get to pay likely $200 a month for something I won't use 90% of the time and still have co-pays for that will take even MORE out of my pocket.

Thanks Obama and the douchebags in Congress, you farkin' pricks.

CNN Fact Check: Congress, staff are exempt from Obamacare [cnn.com]

"VERDICT: False. Congress is no more exempt than any other employer who drops coverage and then helps employees purchase insurance on the exchanges."
Did some intern write that? That is the most poorly worded and researched article I've ever read. Might want to check the actual source from the law itself: http://dailycaller.com/wp-content...age002.jpg
