Comfort how old is he? the tubes will be helpful if he constantly gets ear infections (from what i've heard). he'll be fine. kids are resilient!!
He's 5. Frown Yeah, he gets ear infections so often that I now know the doctor and pharmacist on a first name basis. I get Target pharmacy rewards more often than I probably should because we're always getting something filled. laugh out loud

He has to go in for a shot on Thursday and another on Friday in addition to the ENT appointment.

On top of that, he got kicked in the eye today during recess and has a nice swollen black eye. Doh

I hate it when people complain about being in a long distance relationship when they are like 3 hours apart... try 2500 miles... YOU CAN DRIVE. I have to shell out 2-300 bucks a pop, and i only get to see him 2-3 times a year. yeah- i want to hear you complain.

Seriously, I feel for you. I can relate. hug
You know, I lived about 4-5 hours away from my fiance (now husband)...and hated it. I can't imagine how hard it must be to live that far away. I knew that if I really needed to, I could drive to go see him in the middle of the night. It would suck to have to depend on airlines/money/etc to be able to see each other. Hugs for both of you hug

My little guy has to go to an ENT on Friday. He's been getting ear infections every other week and has been on antibiotics almost every day since November.
I'm glad they finally decided to refer him, but I don't want him to have to get tubes in his ears. Frown

I love this little guy so much, but I had no idea he'd be so much work. No1
hug I had ear tubes when I was 4 1/2 years old. My brother did too. It really isn't too big of a deal. I don't remember any pain and they took out my adnoids (whatever the fark those are for) at the same time. It's a lot easier on both the kids and those taking care of them than them having a ton of ear infections. hug

Oh! As for his black eye...hug My smiting of you might have rubbed off on him by mistake. I'm sorry Blush

My lil sis, niece and best friend's dd all have tubes, but it seems so much different when it's your kid, ya know? I hope that doesn't sound snotty. If it were me, I wouldn't be writing any of this, but I hate to think of my son having to go through anything. Frown

hug Thanks, though. I'm sure I'll be here often until it's over. I'm going to be so anxious.

The black eye didn't bother me so much (I figure he's going to have many bumps and bruises), but I'm annoyed that the nurse failed to mention it to me when she called me today about his ear.
He went to the nurse twice today (bruise and ear). I was called about his ear, but didn't even receive a note about his eye. If you hav eto give my son ice for swelling on any part of his body, I want to know!

Hmmm... my son needs to be re-circumcised, too, but the doctor told us to wait until he was older. He said his son needs it redone, too, but he didn't recommend putting him under at that age (not now, but when he was an infant/toddler).
We were told it's possible that he'll "grow" out of it. Scratchchin

I wonder why that's such a common thing.

My son got them on his 3rd or 4th birthday (dang, I forget now)...and I got them in a few years back. The ear I have the most trouble with lost it's tube about a year ago...and the one that was usually alright still has it's tube in firmly. It was don in the doctor's office.
My son's were done in the hospital and he had tonsils and adenoids removed at the same time. It made a world of difference for him.

Think about how bad you feel every time he gets sick...now picture one crummy day for him and then he feels soooo much better for a long time. Wink

bought a new toaster oven . hopefully this one won't killer me.
i called it Whee

no, i didn't already burn down my place with the new toaster. but it was damaged in shipping. it was a big ass box in an even bigger ass box with just some paper in it. there's a lightbulb in it, that shattered. idk if i should just deal with it or go through the hassle of returning it and getting a new one. i don't need a light bulb in there.. i just don't want this to be the first step in me broiling my apt.

Do you have renter's/homeowner's insurance? If not, I really suggest you get some. nod

I hope I'm not jinxing you, but your luck seems to be lacking.
