I don't think 4K even matters with a screen that small and you won't be getting 4K resolution with a reasonable frame rate for any newer game with that graphics card.
This thread is getting a lot of thumbs up. I don't mean to be negative or be threadcrapping, but this barely seems like a gaming laptop to me, and even if so, it's an older generation mobile graphics card. Am I missing something?

I bought this computer in July. It's been great. I am a software engineer and I play the occasional game. The 4K is lost in this screen for the most part due to its small size. I paid $1150, so I would jump on this.

It'll push 4k on games, but don't buy it unless you don't mind being able to count the frames

It's a decent laptop at a decent price, but don't expect to be doing some serious gaming on it. I don't think that 960M would even be able to play Overwatch at that resolution. You could drop the resolution, but upscaling never looks quite as good as native IMO.

How big a screen does one need in order to make 4K worth it? I am replacing a 15.6" laptop and want 4K after seeing it at on a 15.6" laptop at BestBuy. It seemed fine. I don't play games. I'm in Chrome or MS Word most of the day.

This Dell has everything I want (i7, 16 GB ram, SSD, etc). It is a Dell, so I'm not expecting the best quality, but if 4K isn't worth it on a 15.6" screen, that opens up a lot more choice for me.

isnt this like this deal except with slightly different specs? I bought the one that I linked and I like it a lot. I agree that the 4k screen is kind of unnecessary, and this graphics card cant handle modern games at 4k. However, if you are buying this to play modern games at 4k, then you should look somewhere else. I use this to display 4k images and sometimes even animations as my desktop background and it looks beautiful. Just wanted to give my insight on my personal purchase and I'm happy with it.

There are reasons people might want high resolution and a halfway decent video card outside of gaming...
