What you'll need to start:
A stainless steel (preferably) stock pot, at least 3 gallon capacity. Aluminum will do.
A basic brewing kit. Northern Brewer item #7601 [northernbrewer.com]
A recipe kit [northernbrewer.com]. I would suggest a porter or a stout for your first brew, as dark brews are very forgiving of beginner mistakes. I would suggest using US-05 dry yeast.
A fermometer, NB item #7411 [northernbrewer.com]
Starsan Sanitizer, NB item #7930 [northernbrewer.com]
I would *highly* suggest some Fermcap-S, unless you like scrubbing nasty gooey dried up wort off your stovetop, NB item #9136 [northernbrewer.com]

I bet this coconut ipa will still have a lot of hop and beer taste, i know in a blind taste testi would determine it is beer and not a fruit juice . cheers

Describe to me what beer tastes like? Have you had a sour ale before? How about a stout? Or an IPA? Do any of them taste similar? Craft beer is amazing because there are very few limitations. Where coconut doesn't sound super amazing in an IPA but what if the hops used add a fruit punch or pineapple flavor? I am not sure the hops or grain in this beer, but you can't knock it until you try it.
Nice! After a few days of fermentation at 67-70 degrees, slowly raise the temp to dry the beer out.
A Stone Brewing Co. employee suffered fatal injuries when the forklift he was operating overturned Saturday afternoon, authorities said. The accident occurred at the beer brewery and restaurant on Citricado Parkway as the employee, a 27-year-old brewer, was driving the forklift, Escondido police said.
WestCoaster SD is reporting via Twitter that the identity is Matt Courtright.

Mattman was the first I thought of when I saw the news on another site. I don't believe that accident happened to Mattman, as I think he shows up elsewhere on the website with a different last name and in a supervisory role. I really hope my hunch is right here - my thoughts go out to the young man this happened to and his loved ones.
