I have four of these running with my 1800x on a MSI X370 Gaming Pro board. No issues Overclocking after Bios update. If you're going to put these in a Ryzen build though, be sure to update bios prior to overclocking. If you don't, it may not post.
Running 4 sticks at higher frequencies is harder than running 2, at least for ryzen. I don't know why though.

Any reason not to get two of these as opposed to a 16GB (8GB x 2) set?
Vendors may use different dies in different batches. In most cases, having 2 dimms in the same batch but with non-consecutive serials should not hurt...
Ryzen builders, this may not likely to work at 3000mhz. Please research before you pull the trigger.
update: apparently it does: "It works great with no problems in an Asrock B450M Pro, Running at 2933Mhz. "
stick with 400 series chipsets if you are going for Ryzen

Definitely worth trying though.
There is no difference at all. In one case, they are sold as singles. In the other, as a set. That is it.

Works with my 1800x on an X370.
I have been having all sorts of issues with gskill 3600mhz memory even though it's running at that frequency.
