1366 x 768 TN screen and 4GB Soldered RAM. But it's $149, right? And the Pentium proc is based on the current gen Comet Lake architecture so at least it's not a terrible older Celeron. TU.
14" 1366x768p TN display is the kicker. The pixels are half the size of jupiter. And the TN displays on the ultra budget laptops invert in color if you're viewing them from any angle other than straight on. Everything else about this laptop looks pretty decent if it weren't for a bottom of the barrel display.

I have a Lenovo 100S 11" chromebook with a 1366x768 display and the pixels are huge. I can't imagine what an extra 3" on the diagonal with the same pixel count is likes and who thought that would be okay in this decade.

Looking at the cpu benchmark and the intel uhd graphic performance, this notebook feels like 2014 era. I think the best deal was last year Costco hp 14" laptop with the I5-1035G4 cpu (sold under i3-1035G1) for $279.
Totally agree, The last year costco deal was the best, I am still rocking it. Benchmark of over 8000 for that price is hard to find even after a year later today. The only regret is I didn't get two!
Now I need a laptop to replace my kid's 10 years old pentium dualcore laptop, still work but it's getting a bit too slow opening apps. I think this $150 laptop will work great for him. The CPU is at least 300x faster than the pentium dualcore.

Guys, this thing is only $150, and if you can get it, get it. I am sure you can sell more than that on eBay or just return it if it does not meet your expectation. The CPU is not trash, it has an SSD. What more can you expect from a $150 machine?

My daughter is using a 2012 Thinkpad x230 for school, which requires Zoom on a daily basis. This laptop has similar processing power to that old core i5 machine, so yes, it is more than sufficient in terms of using zoom.

If you miss out on this deal, Walmart also offers a $179 Acer Chromebook year-round which is also completely capable of handling eLearning tasks. I bought a pair for my kids right before the school year started. They're on about 5 hours worth of Zoom calls per day, in addition to other work and, as cheap as the laptops are, they've held up really really well.

its not the zoom calls, the ipad can clearly handle that. Its all the other stuff that they are referencing that require PC's and cannot be run in IOS or android.
Its not the most terrible screen, but TN panels can be tiring to look at after a while. Sadly, I have an old generic winbook I purchased for about 120 bucks 2 years ago. Other than anemic specs (32gb storage, 4gb ram and an atom processor) it actually has a touch IPS FHD display.

Im going for the HP-. It is more than double the cost, but you get a better screen, twice the HP, twice the ram, 4x the storage, and a numeric (and possibly backlit) keypad!

Hey folks: In a parallel thread about this system, a poster has shared the H/W Maintenance Manual for the Ideapad 3 (WA81), which shows that the 4GB memory is replaceable.

I know that the description here and on Lenovo's own site for this model clearly states that the memory module is soldered onto the motherboard, and that would make sense from a cost-saving perspective during manufacturing.... but just in case it isn't, the HMM shows how to replace it. Here's that link, and I'll go see if I can dig up that thread.

https://download.lenovo.com/consu...d3_hmm.pdf

Again, I am fairly certain that the memory IS soldered on and is not user-replacable.

Here's that other thread:
