So what are the cons? It's not thin, nor light. The camera is hot garbage to me, but the wife uses it for Zoom and hasn't complained yet, so there's that. The screen is ... meh. I mean, our phones have better screens, and I'll bet a $150 phone might as well. At first I was concerned about the 4GB of ram, but honestly, it hasn't been a problem YET. I'm sure, in the future we'll have to revisit this. I would like an ethernet jack, but it's hard to tell because they only use them in the house and we have good wi-fi. If we go on vacation, it might be a different story. Also, 128GB of storage is nothing these days. You will run out fast if you have a lot of media. But this problem isn't exclusive to this particular model, as the majority of laptops are in the same boat. So add the cost of external storage (SD card, external drive, cloud) to the overall price. Finally, the battery life is not good. You'll have to pay more to start getting decent longevity.

However, the photo for the "bracket" again appears to show the same "cage" part that we already have in our systems.... so I'm thinking it may be possible that you only need the cable to connect the SSD to the JHDD1 port, and 4 screws to secure the SSD to the computer. If I had a spare SSD laying around I'd crack open my Ideapad and check the fit... but to my uninformed, unintelligent eyes, if the mounting bracket Lenovo is selling is already provided, we shouldn't need to order a 2nd one. I'll attach a photo of the "guts" of the Ideapad from Psycho-G, and one of the photos from Lenovo's site, you tell me... are they not identical?

Since this intel processor supports Flex Memory Access, the first 4GB between the two memory sticks will be run in dual channel mode at the slowest speed and timing between the two sticks. The other 4GB (of the 8GB stick) will run in single channel mode and can be used as swap memory.
Using a 4x4GB configuration:
I've read anecdotal accounts that there may be a distinct benefit to running the same size, frequency and timing between the memory sticks to achieve dual channel. It seems that the benefits however would be realized in very specific scenarios.

I am typing this from my new $200 computer after the upgrades. It flies actually and is very quiet. I have watched a Youtube video and am browsing in Chrome while watching TV. I started a Zoom session and tested out the webcam (OK). The screen brightness is fine and the viewing angles are nowhere near bad. This was a great buy in my opinion.
