So what are the cons? It's not thin, nor light. The camera is hot garbage to me, but the wife uses it for Zoom and hasn't complained yet, so there's that. The screen is ... meh. I mean, our phones have better screens, and I'll bet a $150 phone might as well. At first I was concerned about the 4GB of ram, but honestly, it hasn't been a problem YET. I'm sure, in the future we'll have to revisit this. I would like an ethernet jack, but it's hard to tell because they only use them in the house and we have good wi-fi. If we go on vacation, it might be a different story. Also, 128GB of storage is nothing these days. You will run out fast if you have a lot of media. But this problem isn't exclusive to this particular model, as the majority of laptops are in the same boat. So add the cost of external storage (SD card, external drive, cloud) to the overall price. Finally, the battery life is not good. You'll have to pay more to start getting decent longevity.

It does the basic activities pretty well. Youtube, surfing, word processing, netflix, etc.
I also like the power cable/plug. It's small and portable.
Throw in another 8gb, and you'll be future proof for a while.
Again, does the basic daily activities really well, especially at $149 !!!

The poster claimed that NBX0001K210 is equivalent to NBX0001SX00 and works on his 14ARE05.
I specifically bought this laptop to use as a Linux test machine, so I'll be adding 8GB of RAM and I'm hoping I can find the SATA cable so I can install an additional SSD in the empty space since I have a drive lying around.

I looked at getting the backordered one from Lenovo, but it was $20 after shipping and ETA is late December, so hopefully the one from AliExpress will get here before then and it was only $7. It it doesn't work, I may just invest in a bigger NVMe drive and forget about the SATA drive. Looks like I can get a 500GB NVMe for $80 and I'm sure better deals will come along.
Also, I did take a look at the pictures for the cable listed under the 14IML05 laptop and it appeared to have the same connector as shown in the picture for the AliExpress cable. For $7 I was willing to take the risk, but not for $20.

for around $10 you get it way quicker and returnable.
It looks like one can use the longer M.2 SSD. Do you concur?
I will definitely add 8gb RAM to this thing, and maybe throw in a bigger SSD at some point, but the puny 128gb drive is actually enough for my needs right now. The screen isn't too bad. If you see this thing again for a similar price, it might be worth considering if you need a basic machine to beat on, something for an elderly person who mainly uses Facebook and looks at funny cat videos, or a kid for school work. It's no gamer but it's a good deal for what it is.

Which is P/N NBX001K200 (even if the photo says -K210)
.... which claims in the listing that its compatible with the NBX001K210 cable
.... which slickkitty has found is functionally equivalent to P/N NBX0001SX000
.... which is the P/N on the product photo of the cable on the Lenovo parts website for the Ideapad 3-14IML05
.....which is supposedly P/N 5C10S30041, which is the cable we THINK we know is the right one.
Yeah... a leap of faith here. The problem is that there are two cables listed. The -K200 has a photo of the -K210, and the -K210 has a photo of the -K200. Rather than ordering BOTH and knowing I'll have the hassle of at least one return, I've opted to get the one that seems more likely to work, since it claims to be compatible with both. If they send the -K200 and it doesn't work, it'll be easier to get Amazon to cross-ship the right one.
But it's $10 and I should get it Wednesday. Will have time on Friday to play around with it... will let you know what I find.
(PS - If anyone cares, the listing for the cable that says -K210 but that has a -K200 in the photo is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LB7KYB2 )

The two cables in the other post look the same, but since the picture/descriptions are swapped, it's hard to know which one to buy. I'll wait until the other poster updates us before buying one for myself and hopefully AliExpress will have processed the cancellation by then.
