Starting December 20th customers on an eligible plan with at least 2 paid lines can add a line for free.

Eligible SOC list: https://i.imgur.com/LZegl3r.jpg

Please note: There's a lot of misinformation and confusion around this promo. Inevitable when a promo like this happens half a month after an identical one just ended. Here are some critical nuggets of info:
  • The promo is called "2020 Line On Us 4"
  • It is fully stackable with "2020 Line On Us 3"
  • Internal docs mention a scenario where it isn't stackable. It is referring to "third line free" promos and only to accounts opened on the 20th or later. This appears to be causing confusion.
  • The promo seems to be showing on accounts as line on us 3 (double if you already had it). It's a known issue and being worked on. Will not affect eligibility.

Offer now available. Some reps are not yet aware of the promo's existence, so please be patient with them. You can also add the line as normal online and the promo will automatically apply within a bill cycle.

Ineligible stackable promos:
  • iPhone 12 "on us" (2020 Apple Trade Activate P3)
  • BOGO iPhone (2020 Apple Buy 2 P11)
  • Free Galaxy A71 5G with new line (2020 Samsung Activate P12)
  • Free OnePlus 8/8T+ 5G with new line (2020 OnePlus Activate P5)
  • Costco BYOD promos
  • TFB-exclusive promos

(PS: check this post here https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/..._your_soc/ to get a Chrome or Firefox extension that will make finding your SOC easy, or see the guide here https://reddit.com/r/tmobile/comm...soc_codes/ to find it manually)

If your promo isn't working under your account properly try this (worked for me):
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=143239985&postcount=899

Still on TMO ONE All In Promo plan (FRLTUL2LP) which is never eligible for free lines?

This is a great (grandfathered) plan as it gives you 2 lines for $100 or $80 after 2GB data limit kickback on the 2 lines (or even less if you have the plan with T-Mobile employee hookup code). Plus with the additional promotion you get HD streaming, 10GB full speed hotspot and twice the international data speed (256kbs instead of 128kbs).

BUT... this account only supports 3 lines and unless you got the one free line they offered once under this plan you never got and will never get a free line with the plan.

But if the plan works out for you can move to another T-Mobile One plan (FRLTULF2) which cost a little bit more (2 lines for $120 or $100 after kickbacks) but you will be eligible for the free line and hopefully for additional free lines in the future (the plan supports up to 8 lines in total). The reps are also be able to move the kickback and ONE Plus promotion to the new plan. They might not do it immediately for the new free line but this is also possible and might need another try.
Plus the new plan includes $10.99 Netflix Standard HD account contribution which also needs to be factored in as a bonus.

If you want to get out of that hole and make the change here is my conversation regarding the plan change with T-Force on Twitter:
https://slickdeals.net/f/14713250-t-mobile-customers-add-a-line-for-free-starting-december-20th?p=144023981#post144023981

Then I called 611 at night and asked the overseas team to also add the promo add-ons to new free line so that all lines on the account have the ONE Plus promo (no kickback on the free line of course):
https://slickdeals.net/f/14713250-t-mobile-customers-add-a-line-for-free-starting-december-20th?p=144031265#post144031265

Summary of the process and overview of changes:
https://slickdeals.net/f/14713250-t-mobile-customers-add-a-line-for-free-starting-december-20th?p=144039584#post144039584

As I wrote it needs some time and the right reps to make it happen as I struggled with reps in the past to switch to a different T-Mobile One plan and not ending up with a Magenta plan and losing the kickback and One Plus promotion.
Good luck!

-----------------------------------------------------
Regarding costs to add new line

If you add the line via the website, youll pay $10 for the SIM card to be shipped to you.
If you add the line via a phone call, youll pay the $10 SIM card charge and also $20 for assisted set-up. It is relatively easy to get both of these comped.
If you have a spare sim-card or eSIM, you can use that instead of paying $10 for a new one (bear in mind that it may not be able to do SA 5G). You will need to call since the website does not allow re-use of old cards. (You can also do this via online chat support lines like in-app chat and t-force on twitter)
Expired cards do work, but you have to request a replacement. Again, no SA 5G.
If you have a Costco near you, they will give you the sim card and activate for you for free. You also may get the YMMV $100 cash card (but so far the jury is out if it actually will go through)

Curios. Did they also apply the One Plus Promo and kickback to the new free lines? They only applied that to my existing lines that had the promo when I switched from ineligible 2/$100 to 2/$100 plan but not to the new free line.
I applied kickback to six lines at once back in 2017 (one year after opening the account)
The last two lines were free, so they cant apply kickback to something which costs $0 (I did try, though)

They applied One Plus promo when I asked. I mainly cited that my other lines already have it, and Id like them to all have the same feature set. No problem on the three occasions that I have asked them to do so (2017, last month, and tonight).

Mind you, all three occasions, the One Plus Promo was no longer openly available. In 2017,I couldve added the full One Plus (with more in-flight browsing, more hotspot, etc) for $5, but I preferred the free one. I cant remember fully, but I think the 2017 rep added them because my account was created during the time the Promo came about.

U should have entered ported number....because temp number they assigned gets canceled once you port...when they verify the rebate...it shows that number is canceled...also rebate form says enter permanent number....even though rep enters temp number on rebate form....
I think you didn't understand me. I said I intered the original number which is the same one I ported. Basically Costco ported the number instantly so I didn't have to port the number later. The costco rebate showed that number.

Good to see that some others corroborate this idea. I have no issue waiting until next December to convert two paid lines to free ones (also got the November one).

When the time comes, Is there a more efficient way than porting out to another carrier and then porting back in?

Unless you're on a greenstone
Grandfathered plan, once you cancel paid line, it cancels the old plan ... if anyone has a world workaround, please enlighten!

Ok...I understand T-Mobile denying the rebate...can't fathom why Costco byod rebate is denied

I qualified for 2020 Line on US #2 and #3, but not #1 or #4. (#1 was fiasco because one rep said yes so I added it. Tmo refunded everything at least). 2 and 3 were easy, I added #3 online.

This is the plan breakdown for 9 lines+

$75+$55+$25+$25+$25+$25+$25+$25 (8 Lines) = $280 Before autopay
$280 - $40 = $240 after autopay

$280 (8 Lines) + $30 (9th Line) = $310 for 9 Lines before autopay
$310 - $40 = $270 after autopay for 9 lines.

So, the discount for 9th line should be $30, and $20 for lines 1-8. Instead the 9 line plan shows a discount of $30 for all free lines. That is why you are seeing a big drop in your plan total.
Thank you!

I have 3 free lines from this year itself. I've no use for a landline and since I can't port a number in and claim it, friends/family aren't keen on it either.
Any creative suggestions on what I can do with them?
Wifi hotspot, phones for visiting guests, extra numbers to receive SMS verification code for certain promotions/deals, and of course as a backup line of service.

Struck out all day with multiple T-Force reps when trying to add the ONE Plus Promo.

Is going through iMessage chat a better option??? How are there reps ability to make such changes to plans?? Thanks.

Yeah, I was thinking the same when I read it and went to Costco. Costco has a sign board for free line and $100 rebate. They said they have been doing this all day long today and yesterday. $100 from Costco is a rebate. You submit at Costco site, not on T-Mo site.

What I dont know is how this will stack up against 50% off on iPhone SE, which actually gets submitted to T-Mo.

Back again? I missed the June one this year, but got in on September and November.

If I already have a new T-Mobile SIM card ready to be activated on a new line of service, what do I do? When I try to add a line on-line, it looks like I have to order a new SIM card. Do I need to chat or call in?

Does your Account History shows the new line is $0.0? Something like this:

New line xxx-xxx-xxxx was added to your account on xx/xx/2020 at xx:xx PM . This line is on the T-Mobile ONE plan for $0.0 per month plus taxes and fees.
yeah, my account shows the 5th line, total bill is still the same. And when I check applied discounts and promos to my account, I see "20.00 19 Dec Third Line On us (Additional Lines)"

I never have an issue with them adding it to my free lines. Just tell them that you want all your lines to have the same features, be stern!

I just got this done an hour ago and changed the number for the free line I got at Costco earlier.

Weird. Instead of a separate "2020 Line On Us 4", I'm seeing a bigger discount on my previous "2020 Line On Us 3" promo.

It previously said: "$20 2020 Line On Us 3 (Additional Lines)"

Now, it says: "$40 2020 Line on Us 3 (Additional Lines)"
Instead of "2020 Line On Us 4", I have the same wording as well:
$40 2020 Line on Us 3 (Additional Lines)
