I have 805 fico and they decline my Application for Venture credit card and wasted 1 credit check. I won't be applying any Capital one credit card anytime soon.
Call the reconsideration line, could be an error on the app or a typo. Happened to me before
Keep in mind that you'll also get a hard pull from all 3 bureaus anytime you apply for a Capital One credit card.

Will not be using this card, indefinitely. I missed a due date, paid promptly when discovered, and asked for $25 fee to be waived. Answer was "no" and no reason given. Not happy about that. Haven't missed a due date for years. Been with them for several decades.

Quote from Siang1S :
To quote the ever popular Frank Abagnale clip on debit cards "They are certainly and truly the worst financial tool ever given to the American consumer."

Why would you ever expose your personal finances and money when you spend money on things? That is exactly what you are doing when you sign up with a debit card, swipe a debit card or attach your bank account information to something. All you are doing is inviting financial liability into your life, full stop.

When you pay with a credit card you are spending someone else's money, you are not exposing yourself to anything. Something goes wrong? It's their problem, not yours. As long as you understand how to not over spend and actually pay off your bills(which you claim to understand) then there is absolutely zero downsides. You never get charged interest, you never get charged any fee's, you never take on any liability. Not only that but they also PAY YOU for the privilege of doing so with these kinds of cash back cards and the like.

You get to leave your money in you savings account earning you a few percent a year or your money market account earning you a few percent a year or anywhere else where that money can actually do work for you and grow for you. All you are doing by using "your debit card and YOUR money" to buy things is losing money.

So you keep on "doing you boo boo", exposing yourself to financial risk/liability and getting taken advantage of by your banking institution while the rest of us are getting paid to spend someone else's money
Can't speak for your bank but I've been with my credit union for 25 years and can count the number of times they've screwed me over on zero fingers.

My card has been hacked a number of times. They fix it within 24 hours and all is well. Life goes on. They are currently paying me about $12/month in interest on a money market account too. If your credit cards work for you...great... I will keep doing me as it seems to be working out just fine.

Your post prompted me to give it a shot. Surprisingly I got approved. Not sure if my capital one checking and Walmart cc have something to do with it?
I have mid 700 score with a car note & mortgage. I got approved for 10k!

My guess is they are mostly looking for people that run up their debt and not pay it off to make interest. I pay off everything every month.

The only balance that I'm carrying right now is my discover with 0% apr. I always pay off my statement balance each month. Never would I pay any crazy interest fees. This card also offers 0% apr for the first 15 months? Have you applied for other cards recently? They should at least give you a reason why they declined you!

I'll be closing mine out when the extended warranty period is over for some TV's I bought with the card. I made a legit dispute on a charge and capital one quickly sided with the merchant. To further the dispute I would need to send letters in the mail. Who even uses the mail anymore like this? They just want me to jump through hoops. Terrible company.

Yeah, my credit score is 828 and they declined me for this offer, but gave me an option for a $10,000 limit card but no $200 bonus - fark them, I cancelled a capital one card a few years back because they suck at customer service so I declined the crap offer. I only bothered with them this time because my daughter wanted to get in on Taylor Swift concert tickets and Capital One offers a pre sale a few days before the general public can buy them. During the application, I checked off that I do not carry cc balances and do not intend to transfer any balances, so maybe I'm not in the target audience for this offer?

At least your post is believable. They didn't deny you and offered you a 10k limit. The reason you didn't get the $200 bonus is because you have had a capital one card in the past. Read the terms of their deals. It's only for new customers, not past customers.

I just received my Freedom Flex and don't need another CC. However, I have to travel overseas soon and the no FTF is a no-brainer. My Credit Score is 883 and they approved me for $10k. Thanks

Possibly, but they do send an email with a link to see their letter explaining their denial, and mine said 'too many balances on too many open accounts' (paraphrasing), I have 3 I use and zero all of them out monthly, and I monitor my credit so maybe they feel like 3 active cards is too many? There was a page after being denied for the promo card to check to see if you're pre approved for any of their other cards, I was,, but not for any of the 3 versions with promo bonuses - so despite their letter, it seems your theory holds up. I'll have to wait 3 extra days to try and get Taylor Swift tickets, like the peasants.

828 is a very impressive credit score. What is your oldest credit card account (year opened).

Guys, I recently signed up for this card and was approved instantly. In addition to the $200 sign up bonus, I was able to get an additional $50 for signing up and getting approved. Message me if you want to know how to get an extra $50 in addition to the $200 bonus. Also, I didn't know that this card have benefits like: 1) Price Protection ( you can have up to 3 claims per year with up to $250 per claim) 2) Extended Warranty Protection: You get up to 2 additional years of warranty protection for your purchases! These are two of my most useful benefits for sure!
