I have 805 fico and they decline my Application for Venture credit card and wasted 1 credit check. I won't be applying any Capital one credit card anytime soon.
Call the reconsideration line, could be an error on the app or a typo. Happened to me before
Keep in mind that you'll also get a hard pull from all 3 bureaus anytime you apply for a Capital One credit card.

Will not be using this card, indefinitely. I missed a due date, paid promptly when discovered, and asked for $25 fee to be waived. Answer was "no" and no reason given. Not happy about that. Haven't missed a due date for years. Been with them for several decades.
I got the $300 Bonus for $500 Spend offer via Email. Instant approval online for >$20k. 818 FICO. 9 open cards (none with Capital One, previously closed Savor few years back)
I just applied for the $300 after $500 spend targeted offer and they rejected me and offered to approve me for what was essentially the same card but with no spend offer, a 29% APR and a $1000 limit. It was like being slapped in the face. This past year I have only applied for a Citibank Costco card which was approved at 17% and $5k limit and I do not carry a balance.
What is the appeal of this card when there are multiple 2% cards with the same $200 intro bonus?
The appeal is that it's free money. Are you under the impression that you can only sign up for one credit card or something?
Sign up > do the minimum spend > pay off your bill/use the bonus > lock the card and move on with your life using your own specific favorite credit card. Rinse, repeat.
I have this card, and I'll just say this, Capital one was my very first credit card back in 08, and they use to be excellent at catching fraud.. every since they had that data breach years ago and tried to blame Apache (spoiler Apache had already fixed the bug that was exploited and put out a notice a month prior)
The fraud detection has gotten really bad, my card has been ripped off a few times.. the last time it happen they let the person with a cloned card at walmart B&M swipe 3 times for lower and lower amounts until they found a charge that would physically "fit" within my credit limit.
Im not saying they're the worse card company out there but They use to be bad ass and now they are suck ass. (relative to what they was 5,6 years ago)
i think mastercard is just as widely accepted as visa internationally?
Yes. In my opinion it has a very similar acceptance footprint in the world meaning that I think it's accepted internationally just as much as Visa. Just my opinion.
I have a Capital One card, did the pre approval check, and they offered me the current card I have instead. Tried it again, and they rejected me outright. How silly.

I expect the fee to be waived if I haven't missed a payment for 12+ months.
That was exactly happened to me last round. Have 830 score, but Capital One denied still, for me having many open cards LoL
