Target.com just priced matched for in-store pickup via online chat. I added the product to my cart, opened chat, provided cart #, explained that the Walmart mobile app shows the in-store price of $49.94 and after a couple minutes the rep came back saying price match was approved.. Also got 5% with RedCard so cheaper than Walmart by $3.

Rep will tell you to place the order online, then will credit order $10 partial refund.

This is of course YMMV as experience from agent to agent may differ from past experiences.

I think the biggest thing you're missing is that the coupon for Best Buy you referenced was a one time thing that worked for a limited time. Yes it's great you're bringing awareness to people like you're attempting to do, but price matching at Target and most locations is standard at most places. In addition, like other posters have mentioned, you used a Target Red Card to drop the price even more to make it seem like it was the cheapest you can find online, or in this case in store.

I get what you're going for and good on you for helping some, but price matching shouldn't be a standard for finding the lowest price since it is already low somewhere else. That's just bringing your service to another company for their gain.

True about the BB coupon, but I used to work for and have been a GCU subscriber and have purchased many games and other product since BB online was launched at the time of my employment there. I still did not get a coupon and literally all that coupon would do is match WalMart's in-store price. Don't get me wrong I understand what you're say, but the means to which you get to $49.94 may be more reproducible via price match at Target.com than the BB coupon and that deal got 90 upvotes. Even if I got the BB deal; they do not offer a card I know of which would give another 5% off. Some SD's have a crazy steps to get something, I think this was just a very easy thing to try where you could get the game for the lowest price anywhere. There's literally no where I know of that you can get this for less than $49.94 even with PMing and coupons.

Thanks, OP, worked for me. The rep told me that they don't ever match in-store prices but made a "one time exception" and did it anyway.

I second that. Thank you OP. Some people need to chill out. I don't understand all the hate! Are you mad you wasted your time and a YMMV discount didn't work for you? Then only try discounts that are 100% approved. If you took the time to post a negative comment then obviously you shouldn't care about wasting time!
