Bought a satisfactory HW-Q70R (only came with sound bar and subwoofer). Not sure if it's working correctly though. I'm streaming audio from my iphone and even when I turn the bass alllll the way down, the bass is still bumping. Even when I turn the soundbar to 0 and the sub to -12 (and bass to -6 in the equalizer), it's really loud. Bad sub or is that just how it is?

Did you also buy Geek Squad protection? If so, then submit a claim and have them fix it, or give you a replacement device.

Got the Geek Squad protection so I'll take it in if this is not how it's supposed to work. Just wanted to ask around first.

How were you able to setup the soundbar without the remote? I also got a q70r soundbar with no remote and have it plugged into my new q80t television but I cannot figure out how to set it up. None of the physical buttons on the soundbar seem to work properly and it isnt recognized on smarthings because I don't think it is connected to wifi... Driving me nuts!

Looks like you got a generic one.... I have an older Harmony remote that I just programmed for it but all it will do is turn the power on and off. The source will not change no matter what.

There is a physical source button on the side and if u get it to work then the smart things app has a remote function. If that physical button doesn't work then you should buy the generic remote as it works great

The physical source button doesn't do anything. Lol, against my better judgment I am going to not give up and try one of those generic soundbar looking remotes but it feels like at the very least it needs some sort of hard reset. Just doesn't make sense that the physical buttons on the side don't register correctly.

I think I figured out my issue. BB gave me a wireless sub that connects to the HW-Q70R/ZA but isn't the one it originally came with, so it's probably not understanding the commands from the soundbar. Could someone tell me the model of the sub?

Well, got a generic soundbar remote from Amazon today and I still can't set the soundbar up. The only two buttons that do anything on the remote are the power button and the "Sound Mode" button. The manual and random internet things do seem to suggest that holding the settings button for 5 seconds while off should do something like a reset, but it doesn't work for me. It actually turns the soundbar back on. If I hold that same button while it is on, it usally says BYE to me. Can't find any other type of way to reset the thing, so i think i'm done with it...

Hmm, all the buttons on my generic remote worked fine for me out of the box. They changed the reset combo for this model (I found out by troubleshooting what I thought was my issue). You need to hold the + and - buttons on the side of the sound bar and while continuing to hold, turn the sound bar on. Keep holding the + and - and you'll eventually get the sound bar saying INIT and it'll go back to factory defaults. If this doesn't work, I'd try to update the firmware through the SmartThings app.

I dont think the physical buttons really work on mine. I can't switch the source to wifi mode so I don't think I can update it or connect to smarthings. My power supply could be bad because it does weird power cycle stuff but I think you bought the one I posted lol

So this should be covered under manufacturer warranty. And if you are really committed you can buy the Best Buy extended warranty and have them deal with it. I finally got all my cables and remotes in and it works great. Since it's clear it was a floor model and I'm not returning it, I bought the Best Buy warranty for $35
