Buy your own high-capacity USB stick (or microSD card and use in conjunction with USB card reader) and then use the resources mentioned in this thread to download the games and set up your USB drive for use with the LGP.

Have you've NOT EVER downloaded and/or installed software/programs of any kind on your own computer, or downloaded/copied/saved files in or between folders on your PC? If you have or are capable of doing any of that, then you don't need to waste your money buying preloaded sticks from Etsy and thus allowing those sellers to profit off of someone else's hard work in creating all of those saUCEs designed to work on the LGP or other AtGames arcade gaming hardware.

I don't understand how or why some folks can apparently be so intimidated of the prospect of setting up their own USB stick and load games onto it--it's not like you have to write programming code or assemble/install a complicated piece of hardware.

The trackball alone in this is worth 50$. The joysticks and buttons are 70$. The games may be worthless, but it plays up to ps1 with a simple usb.

What you've shown for 100$ is a small system that supports zero players. You don't have a controller. If you buy two 8bitdo Pros (and you should), you're out another 100$ just to play.

That part is easy, I'm just wondering what stick/trackball unit you are using? They aren't cheap to make and to handmake one like this, it would probably cost close to $100, assuming you had the tools.

So I have a couple of more technical questions about this thing:

1) All of the talk on modding seems to be using the built in 'OS' which allows you to mount an external USB with the coinopsx software and the properly formatted ROMs to play any game you want. Are there any other modding options that allow you to replace the OS/firmware so you can just put all the ROMs on the device itself, as well as modding the internal functionality?

2) I am a bit confused about the online aspect/requirement of this, as I've seen some concerning things. It sounds like, even when using the coinopx mod, that you still need to setup an online account with the manufacturer AND, even more concerning, have it call home every few days to continue using it in that way. Is that correct? So even if I want to use my own ROMs and coinopx or whatever, I still need to let it integrate with the online service and can't just set it up and leave it offline? Is there a fee for this? What happens when/if the manufacturer goes out of business and the servers go down or they decide to change their policies on third party ROMs?

1. No. I plan to just load up coinops on PC instead of dealing with the built in software. I don't like the internet requirement/devices calling home.

2. It becomes only a controller at that point with BT and USB support.

All these DIY are great but people like to pay for convience. Being broke and young with massive amounts of avail spare time I used to DYI everything. Working full time with a wife/kid i value my free time and energy so much more so i find myself paying for convience unless its really something im passionate about or can't afford. From this thread sounds like alot of DIY people can prob make some good money with their builds from the questions/demand for something like this.

Well the thing is that it's literally done for you. It's not like you have to wrangle up all the individual rom files, then configure the art, vid clips, and config the keys. You just have to buy a USB drive and copy a few files and it's done.

Ack ditto what that other guy said about days like this on Slickdeals. Just bought this and the Galaga cabinet. I think I have a problem. Just love stuff like this even though I already have multiple ways of playing these games. lol.

Although this will be my 1st trackball...truly is the best way to play Centipede and Millipede.

I think it stops before PS1 and dreamcast stuff. You CAN however plug this in via USB and use with a computer. However trackball stuff like Golden tee works great with this. I just wish it had more pinball support
