Of course this is just my opinion, but I wouldn't want this bulky thing sitting on my lap, so it would need to mount to something, and with the player 2 controller so close to the player one, I would hope the person sitting next to me took a bath and wore some deodorant or it's going to be a long (or maybe very short) night.
Same games you can just load on a RetroPie for free and play on occasion, which is probably what most people do anyway. When I feel like gaming, more than likely I'm going to hit the PS4 or PC anyway, or you can just kill two birds with one stone and emulate on a PC/Laptop.
Now if you want to sit cheek-to-cheek with your buddies playing Mortal Kombat or whatever, I'm the last person who is going to try to stop you. Enjoy.

my opinion on what i have read and hands on my buddies atgames legends cabinet.
You read that this is a great arcade stick for $99 and you cant build one for less. Hmm, ok great. 1 the roller, everyone says to shim it. Huh.what breaks on the roller is the bracket that holds it. No one can explain how reinforcing the spinner helps the bracket screw holes from breaking. No big deal its a easy and cheap fix. If you have a 3d printer to can make them yourself. It will still break according to people that have use the shim kit. 2. Change the springs, rack and put bat top handles on. O.k but this a great arcade stick, no need for that, right. Yea, but it's a better gaming experience. O.k. that's what we all want. I guess I have to spend more money on this great arcade stick. 3. Atgames is trying hard and always updating to bring a better experience? Huh, really, wow, that's great. Hmm, let's see. This company has a very bad reputation, why? For starters they have no contact number. Just go on Facebook and ask there. Hmm o.k, but if you post a problem, THEY BANN YOU.. no big deal they are
