Lowest price I've seen ever. Been wanting one and going to try it out. Also it had a coupon for 10% off TAKETEN.

This paired with torque(app), best $20 you'll spend on your vehicles. Obviously a code scanner but where it really shines is logging fuel trim and misfires that might not trigger CEL. Saved me lots of headaches.
According to amazon, looks like I ordered this back in 2014 for $23.99.

I have no recollection of this laugh out loud
I literally just bought this two days ago to use with Torque Pro. It works perfectly and is by far the cheapest and most effective way to get into the whole obd scanning business. I tried BlueDriver before and it was a $100 lump of plastic from Torque Pro's point of view, and I wasn't about to go spending another $100 on yet another scanner that also won't work. But, even at $20 not on sale, this Bafx scanner should be an embarrassment to the other obd scanner manufacturers for how much more reasonably priced and still effective solution this is.

search ELM 327 on Amazon, there are a ton of options, but I just checked and found this one for $9.99 https://www.amazon.com/Launchh-Pr...26&sr=8-12

Tons of choices between $10 and $12 that all do the same thing. I have one of the little stubby blue ones in the glovebox of each of our cars. I usually end up using them to help friends at church, work, etc much more than for our own vehicles! =)
That's the same one I've been using for years. It's usually about $7 on ebay and never lets me down.

I'm an idiot when it comes to cars (I can change brakes but that's about it). How did this save you thousands of dollars and is it worth it for someone who knows very little about cars?
because they didn't have to pay me, auto tech 40yrs, to diagnose and repair it for them...

Even though I missed the wave on this deal, I'm still interested in this adapter. Could someone who has this connected with Torque go to the main Torque screen->Adapter Status->Adapter PID read speed and tell me how many PIDs/second this one pulls? Wanna know if it's an upgrade from my old cheapie.
I was curious about pids/sec too. The little blue generic elm327 ones are usually around 25pids/sec. The $40 usb obdlink sx cable is around 125 pids/sec. I use that with an otg adapter on my Motorola G7Power phone. I also use it with an old Dell Venue Windows tablet.

I have one of those cheapies as well as this Bafx- The Bafx is worth the additional cash in my opinion simply because it reliably works with everything I plug it into- I haven't found a vehicle it won't connect with, whereas the cheap one has had odd compatibility issues with random models, e.g. Fords from the early 2000s, some VWs, etc.

Would this paired with the Torque App be able to do throttle position reset (throttle body relearn after cleaning an electronic throttle body)?

This would be for a 2005 Honda CRV.

i heard this was one of the better OBD2 devices a few years ago and decided to get it. it worked ok but after a short time it started to randomly disconnect (within the return period so not a long time). I got it replaced with another and it did the same thing.
I went and got a "Carista" and its been working with no issues for at least 2 years now with torque pro.

My old cheapie (elm327/BT) only gives me about 12 pids/sec. So even 25 would be an upgrade. But we'll probably have to wait for another sale on this to catch someone interested in testing it for us...

What makes this better than a cheapo veepeak like this one? Seems to do the same things... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011NSX...6PZVZQK06T
That cheapo has been reported to reek Havok on cars ECU causing $$$ worth of damage from having to reprogram it to replacing the ECU. Spend a few more $ now for a quality brand like Bafx or save a few $ and role the dice.

I just bought the veepeak last week and so far its been working great with Torque Pro. Not sure what the differences are between the veepeak and other ODB adapters. I went with veepeak - just because it was only $10. Compared to others.

Yeah, tried that whole routine 2 years ago when I had just replaced a battery right before smog. Theoretically works, realistically did not in my case.
It needs freeway driving at 55-60mph for 10-15 minutes to make sure that catalytic converter is fully heated and then some "city style" driving and then some idle sitting to check evaporator and its valves
