I don't think I have used this brand, but cheese powder is great for making cheese sauces. Mix some with milk or water, browned hamburger, and egg noodles, and you have a nice "hamburger helper". How about some cheese sauce for nachos? Or as a dip. And of course, there is always mac & cheese.
2 pound white cheddar much better value.

Can someone explain to me common uses for this? I have to imagine it isn't snorting it.

This may be a good deal but I can't recommend it personally. It just tastes like super salty plastic powder to me. Ended up with a big jar of useless orange powder

There is only one difference. One is dyed with annatto, the other isn't.

Except this inferior product doesn't use annatto, it uses artificial yellow 5, yellow 6 as per ingredient list.

Yep, pretty much...
I just recevied mine, although I'm not sure if the corners were previously dented or ended up that way from shipping. Probably both. Stick Out Tongue

Did you order from Amazon Warehouse or at the standard Amazon price?

Amazon sends me literally EVERYTHING in those terrible eco-friendly paper bags with no padding. Papeback books? Who needs padding? Specialty hand-crafted cards? Those won't get bent without a box (newsflash - they do). It's like they want things to get damaged. Considering I know they're going to just send it in what amounts to a massive paper bag, it's going to be beat to shit either way. I'd rather get it for half price. As long as it's still got a few months of shelf-life left, I'll be happy.

I ordered from warehouse, and yep, shipped in those eco-bags. Totally agree with your frustrating packaging assessments.
For what it's worth, my 2 lb warehouse used cheese is good until December.

Awesome, thanks!

Assuming I like it, this thing will be gone well before December. That was my only other concern, but figured if it was too close to expiration I'd just get a refund. Sounds like that probably won't be an issue.

Now to hope that opening my eco paper bag doesn't puff up cheese dust along with those bits and pieces of styrofoam "padding".

laugh out loud My cheese dust was still completely sealed, no cheese-flavored padding for me. Peace

What's "used cheese"? Cellulose powder that some previous customer smeared underneath their arm pit, then scraped it off into a container and returned to Amazon, and then you bought it?

One can only hope!LMAO
Amazon warehouse used to mark all their items as "used," maybe they've improved their verbiage since then.

That does not mean this a product that contains gluten, though. It means this does not contain gluten, but carries some risk of cross contamination. Manufacturers use this labeling so they don't have to go through the process of the insane cleaning procedures or huge investment in an entirely gluten-free production line, while not assuming the risk of a gluten-free claim.
Just a little info for you!

That's pretty cool! I once considered food scientist as a career choice.

And yes, thank you you make a good distinction. I am perfectly aware of the food processing systems, that's because for someone like my relative with celiac disease it's very important to know how food is handled and even some cross contamination can be a bad day. My comment was mostly directed at those how, like my relative, have severe gluten allergy to not blindly trust comments on SD (in the previous thread for the same deal there was someone sharing "gluten free" snacks ideas using this).

Thanks! not!
According to the 3 camels, the price for the 2lb white has been below $13 (and under $12 with S&S) since late March. The day after you posted this, the price shot up to $19 and has stayed there!

But I've got a 3Camels price alert, in case it goes back down.
