I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

I just applied yesterday online and came to know today about in-branch benefits. Can I cancel online one and go and apply in branch?
If you were approved yesterday, the answer is "no".
If you are still pending approval, then I suggest that you immediately call Chase's Reconsideration Line (888-270-2127) and ask them that question. There are no data points at this time that suggest the decision will go one way or the other. It's a case of YMMV.
If you are able to cancel online, I recommend that you wait at least a few business days for your application to clear Chase's system before doing the in-branch application. But don't wait too long, there are rumors that this promotional deal will end on July 17. https://travelsort.com/100k-chase...-fee-2021/
Assuming you qualify, your options are:
a. Sign up online for 100K bonus.
b. Sign up online via someone else's referral. You get the same 100K bonus as if you signed up by yourself plus the person who referred you is eligible for 20K bonus.
c. Sign up in branch for 100K bonus + annual fee waived for first year + $50 grocery credit.
Note: When you sign up online, the $95 annual fee is not waived. However, it is unclear whether you will get the $50 grocery credit. (If the 100K bonus works like the 80K bonus that it replaced, then the $50 grocery credit applies to both online and in branch applications. I believe that this is the case, but there have been no confirming reports.)
EDIT: One data-point. My wife's new Sapphire Preferred account. She signed up for the 100K bonus a month ago. She has at least one item coded as "groceries" on her account. No grocery credit applied.
I was informed by a Chase CSR that I would not be getting the grocery credit nor fee waived since I applied online.
Sure would be a lot easier if the Mods wouldn't take away the Wiki.
If there was a Wiki, I'd have also included information about how to check your 48 month UR history, how to check your credit history to see whether you meet the 5/24 rule, and how ignorant Chase's bankers are regarding the 100K promotion details. As it is, I think this post suffers from disseminating too much information in one bite.
Just applied at a Branch here in Texas, the application says 80K + $50 Grocery credit + first year fee waiver. Agent was telling me that I will be getting 100K, let's see.
You will get it, there was a circular which was published on 17th jun to the banks stating ppl applying in branch will also get 100k points like the one applying online
For the $4k spend: After you make a charge on the card, can you pay it off immediately? ...or do you have to wait until after the statement close date?

For the $4k spend: After you make a charge on the card, can you pay it off immediately? ...or do you have to wait until after the statement close date?
You can pay it off immediately if you choose to. Payment date does not affect sign up bonus.
Possible reasons (from most common to least common):
You opened 5 new personal credit cards within the past 24 months. Being an authorized user on someone else's card counts under Chase's 5/24 rule. Most business credit cards do not count (exceptions: Capital One, Discover and TD Bank).
You previously earned a Sapphire Preferred or a Sapphire Reserve bonus within the past 48 months. (Double-check your personal records, Chase bills, UR history for previous awards.)
You already have a Sapphire Preferred or a Sapphire Reserve account. (Being an authorized user on someone else's card does not count.)*
Your combined credit limits for all your Chase accounts is too high for Chase to grant you any more credit at this time. (Call their reconsideration line and request that the credit limits be reallocated to provide headway for your new Sapphire Preferred card. If I recall correctly, the minimum amount required for the Sapphire Preferred account is $5K.)
Your credit bureau account is currently locked. (You may have elected to lock it for security purposes at some point in the past.)
Your credit utilization ratio is too high. Note: It doesn't matter that you pay off your balances every month. The ratio is based on how much your credit is used (billed), not on how much debt you carry.
Chase was unable to verify your permanent address. (Call their reconsideration line to answer any questions about your address.)
Chase was unable to confirm your identity. (Call their reconsideration line to clear up any issues. I once had to provide a copy of my driver's license.)
Your verifiable income is too low. (Call their reconsideration line to explain your financial situation.)
There is something specific to your credit history that Chase has flagged. (Things such as an unreconciled dispute with an old Chase account may not show on your credit bureau history, but Chase tracks on its own.)**

* _ If you recently closed or downgraded your Sapphire account, it may still be in their system. Anecdotal reports have cited 4 days for downgraded accounts to clear and 30 days for closed accounts to clear. YMMV.
I just got another "You're Pre-approved" email to apply for the Preferred with 100k bonus, and it says to apply by July 26th. So, looks like the promo is good until at least then

Its actually smart to pay it off before your statement closes and balance is reported on your credit report. Once that high balance is reported, your credit score will fall. It will take time for you to get your score back high again. Just because you pay it off next statement doesnt mean your score will go back to the old level immediately. It still takes time. Important if you need a high score for another deal.
Thank you!!! Any idea what amount is considered too high of a combined chase CC limit to give out any further credit?
I don't think their criteria for approval is solely based on Chase Credit card limits, but on some other basis that includes all credit cards. In my case, they held up approval until I reallocated $5K from my other Chase credit cards ... and my other Chase credit cards totaled only $23K! However, my total available credit (including all other bank cards) was a little over $200K.
My wife, OTH, was instantly approved for $17K, but she had no other Chase cards and her total available credit was less than $50K.
My credit score is about 820, my wife's is about 780.
Sorry, that's about all the info that I can pass on to you about how Chase evaluates credit limits.

Also, if you are currently a Chase customer, and you run into a problem with the in-branch application being blocked by the system; then have the banker create a new profile for yourself. That trick seems to have worked for others.

Only your friend gets but I am sure good friend can give 50% cash back.. still free 10k points for friend and help you with $95 fee
I updated this previous post that covers reasons for application denial/blocked and what to do about them:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15070267-chase-sapphire-preferred-card-spend-4-000-in-first-3-months-earn-100k-points?p=147925
If your only application hurdle is that you are presently a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder, then your options are to either close the account or to product change (downgrade) the account:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15070267-chase-sapphire-preferred-card-spend-4-000-in-first-3-months-earn-100k-points?p=148202
The above discussions do not cover sign up options. Basically, they are online (independent application), online (via referral), and in-branch:

Lastly, there are rumors as to when this promotion ends (but nothing definitive):
