I have a hack for this on my H9G. Click on "build number" several times to enable "developer mode". Then turn window, transition, and animator animations off. This improves the response time when navigating through home, selecting apps, and using the menu.

Real shame that this is maxed out at 65" would really pay for 75" and even 85" versions for my living room.

Not willing to $3,000+ for their new top of line model 8k TV. Still do not understand why these companies are making 8k TVs.

I'm in the market for a 65" TV. Been looking at the LG OLED. Price is around $1849. How would this TV compare? I mean, obviously the LG is a better TV but is it $700 better? No gaming. Just streaming and movies.

Do you think the U8G's increased brightness and number of local dimming zones over the U7G will be noticeable in real world usage? I want to wait and see if the U7G doesn't have widespread ghosting reports like the U8G does. If it doesn't, I might go with that instead.

A 12% discount its not a real deal to me. I am not in a rush to get a new TV, so I can wait a few months for a better deal.

Just got a xbox series x and tempted to upgrade my tv for one that supports 4k at 120hz, but I am a bit skeptical how many games will actually be 120hz that aren't just FPS boosts on prev generation shooter games

I've bought at least 50 TVs in my lifetime and not once have I run into any issue after the warranty runs out hence I would never buy an extended warranty. To me they are for suckers. Id get a Costco membership if extended warranty is a concern.

Well, you also said you replace your TV's every 2-3 years anyway. So it doesn't bother you to drop a grand every 2-3 years. For those more budget oriented, it bothers them.

Actually, I bought a $50 (5 year aafes) warranty on my Samsung 55" ($450) last year. The tv had a year initial warranty. Wouldn't you know, 15 months after I bought it, it developed two lines and dead pixels for no apparent reason.

Well, the warranty folks came out and said it would cost $300+ to repair it, so they just refunded me the full purchase price of my tv....

Although, now I am left without a tv and no warranty on a replacement or repair I never received.

You be the judge on whether it was worth it or not. Honestly, it scares me how expensive and fragile these things are.

Went with the 55inch plus 5 year best buy geek support so I dont have to worry even if something breaks down. Total came to 1150 including taxes.

That's usually how insurance works tho. Same with auto insurance or home insurance

So you paid $50 to essentially "lease" a TV for 15 months after all was said and done. That's like $3.33 a month. I'd say it's well worth it when considering you could be out at least $750.

Very basically the two Hisense sets are pretty similar and both blow away the X900H for picture.

Major difference is the H9G does not output anything at 120hz while the U8G does, and also has VRR/Freesync. The red ghosting from the H9G is mostly fixed for movie watching on the U8G but there are ghosting issues with gaming, otherwise the picture is great. You get some more premium features that you dont get on other sets like Google assistant, remote locator/backlit remote, two HDMI 2.1 ports etc. The Android OS/menu is also very snappy on the U8G (more so than on the H9G) and is equal to the X900H.

The U8G (and the H9G) has a way better picture than the Sony X900H. If you swapped the labels on the sets and said the Sony X900H was a Hisense everybody would laugh at how bad that set is. I own the thing and it's just not worth it at the ridiculous price they sell them for. The U8G/H9G are more on par with the Sony X950H. The X900H is just plain dull and has worse black levels than this and the other mentioned sets.

IMO this set is well worth it at $1150 for 65" but if you don't really game or don't trust Hisense to fix the gaming trailing/ghosting issues grab the H9G for movie watching.
The U8G has WiSA-Ready listed in its specs. Do you still need a SoundSend or USB transmitter for Wireless 5.1.2?

Not so obviously better imo in terms of picture it all really depends on what you want. Here's a good video for you. Hisense U8G is on the right LG CX on the left:

Basically an OLED has much deeper blacks/better contrast but the U8G will get much brighter and show much more of the shadow/dark area details.

I love this TV so far. Great for bright rooms. I got this as my video game TV now that my wife has taken over my Samsung Q80R. This is on par with my Q80R at about $500 less.
