Huge difference. I have a fire stick which is now on the playroom TV for the kiddo to watch Disney+/PBS, but the Apple TV is a significant upgrade in UI. On top of that, if you have iPhones or iPads, being able to cast/screen mirror or use your phone as a remote is pretty cool too. Also, Airpods can pair directly with the Apple TV for wireless audio (I use this during football season so I can watch/listen to the game while cleaning up without blasting the family)

Like others have mentioned, it's a big difference.

I housed to have fire sticks all over the house since they were cheap, but then I noticed that they began to have issues with some apps as updated versions came out (despite me staying up to date on all fire and app updates).

Main thing for me was that I wanted to use the Spectrum app, and Amazon fire stick wouldn't let me use it properly, kept having issues where it wasn't supported.

As an iPhone user, I like to easily screen mirror what I was watching in my phone onto the tv all through the phone.

Lastly I really appreciate being able to use my Apple remote as my all-in-one remote where I don't need to touch my soundbar and tv remotes.

If you can afford it Apple tv surpasses any of the other streaming devices, even if they have apple tv airplay enabled. You can turn a tv on and off with the apple tv remote(digital and physical remote) the apple tv can also be controlled by a tv remote in case you can't find it. You can connect to multiple headphones and other wifi/bluetooth speakers directly, it's not clunky or slow, very responsive. This new one takes the cake as far as presenting and streaming 4k content, hdr, and the sound!!. I do own the alexa cube and ex roku ultra user, those I think are for folks who are not technologically inclined or people on a budget. I found that I always had to restart them and at times weren't very responsive or intuitive. Just put off that it's $10 cheaper, wish amazon would price match after purchase like best buy does.

I have old Apple and Nvidia not the pro, one Nvidia is slightly better than Apple TV in every respect, but, overall both are good and it comes down which ecosystem you wants to be in.

Thanks, I guess its all about your preference, if you're not apple fanboy, then Nvidia shield pro is better, but, if you want to be in Apple ecosystem Apple TV.

Some of you are ridiculous for tearing people down asking why this is a deal in the world of streaming devices. The most ridiculous response was that you could connect this to your MANY homepods to create a surreal sound experience. Buddy. Get a Roku Ultra for half the price, invest the rest of the money on a sound system far superior and cheaper than multiple small $400 speakers, and might as well add a new TV on top of that too. As for the people saying you can control the Apple TV with your phone, you can do that with the Roke app …. I had an Apple TV for a long time but it became useless when most smart TVs include apps and what not. If you really like Apple original shows and gaming on the Apple TV I could understand the purchase.

But don't push this on someone as a superior product when another streaming stick/device offers basically the same aside from Apple exclusives.

if you really owned a roku you would know that the roku remote also allows headphones, controls the tv, 4K, Dolby digital, etc…. I would so Apple TV is more constrained with what you can do, so I'm not sure where the appealing to more tech inclined comes from. I'd say it's the less technical, brand followers as they pay so much more.
