Not really. They might pass for playing PS4/Xbox one games, but the ps5/XBox series X titles need the faster built in drives or expansion cards.

I believe these WILL work for storing your ps5 downloads but you'll need to transfer them to the internal drive before you can play them.

Yeah, WD has been solid for me also. I had a 4Tb Seagate external drive that failed last week after 8 years (clicking noises, can't connect anymore), I can't remember if I had a lot of files I wasn't able to backup to my other external drive. But I was told in the Costco Seagate thread that 8 years is amazing, especially since I didn't disconnect it from the computer, and often hear the fan running even if the computer was turned off (has external power). This time, I will use as backup strictly (and not as an extra, always accessible drive) and not connect unless I need to.
