These portables with USB power are not shuckable because they lack a SATA interface. You probably could DIY an internal cable solution using a USB header on your mobo but it's not worth your money or effort.
The shuckable ones are the desktop models with separate power supplies and standard 3.5" drives inside. AFAIK capacities range from 6TB to 14TB. Plenty of discussion about CMR vs SMR, helium filled drives, etc. on the drives contained within. These are worth shucking because they are often cheaper than the internal drive alone.
Do these have standard SATA interfaces internally or are they "USB drives". I need some 2.5" drives for my dell R730 server so would need to shuck them.
