Thanks to nadanunca from this thread that I found this deal.

Best price for Verizon customers are $450 + $40 + Tax.
Best price for Non-Verizon customers are $500 + $40 + Tax.
Personally, I did order a few items and no filler items.

The best deal I found for JBL 9.1 is $800.
https://slickdeals.net/f/14503514-jbl-bar-9-1-channel-soundbar-system-with-surround-speakers-and-dolby-atmos-800-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

To get this deal, you need 5 items. Doesn't have to be the same kind but those that are eligible for "Buy more, save more. Now buy 3 regularly priced accessories to get 40% off, 4 to get 45% off, or 5+ to get 50% off" promo.

1. Sign up for the 10% accessories promo code at https://www.verizon.com/discounts/vaccination/ It took a few hours to receive mine, but they say it may take up to 24 hours. Also note that you need to enter a Verizon number. The form accepts non-Verizon numbers, but I'm not sure if they'll send codes to them.
2. Add the JBL 9.1 [verizon.com] to cart
3. Add 4 filler items to cart. A few examples, OtterBox Fast Charge Wall Charger USB-C, 20W [verizon.com] or Verizon USB-C to USB-C 6ft. Braided Charging Cable [verizon.com].
4. All items will show up as 50% off.
5. Enter the promo code, bringing the JBL 9.1 to $450.

Other interesting 50% off items.
JBL Bar 2.0 All-in-One Soundbar from $199 to $99
JBL Bar 2.1 Deep Bass Soundbar from $299 to $149
JBL Bar 5.1 Surround Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer from $499 to $249

How much were the surrounds? Either way, I am not worried, I should be able to flip these speakers for a profit if I don't like it. i could use that money towards a better set up. I do like that the JBL surrounds are truly wireless with no power cord which would be nice if I'm in the kitchen i can move them there for music. I will see...Peace

I got open box from BB for $210. So totally like $750, definitely not as good as the last deal for 950A for $770 or something. But no regrets, the sound quality and Atmos actually works really well for my living room.

I also saw there is a night mode but I believe it's only for Atmos formats which would damper sudden loud noises. Funny you mention the Samsung Q900A, because the reviewer I mentioned talked about the Q900T and how it is overall better than the JBL. Looked at prices on Amazon right now and it's at the same price point at this 9.1 version.
Rtings likes the Q900A more than the JBL 9.1.
https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/t...shold=0.10

However, it looks like the Q900T does not have any satellite speakers which means no real surround sound. I didn't find either of the Q900 models as cheap as $450 on Amazon. Were you looking at the Q800T?

Sorry, I meant at the original 1k price. I also mistyped the model. The reviewer mentioned the Q950T which has the satellite speakers. Funny that the 950 is $2 cheaper on Amazon than the 900 right now and you get the surround speakers. laugh out loud

From the several reviews I've seen the Samsung is considered better but definitely not twice as good if you are talking about this discounted $500 or $450 price point.

Yep, agreed. If the price was the same then I would probably get the Q950T. But it looks like it will be tough to beat the JBL 9.1 at $450.

No idea how that works with Verizon. I know some places will ship what's out of stock at a later time. The issue may be with the discount dependent on quantity of accessories ordered. Verizon's website is pretty garbage - slow to load, a pain to get anything done, so I'm not too hopeful their order fulfillment process will make any sense. I mean, they have two options when adding an item to a cart: "Continue" ( what the heck does that even mean, continue what?) & "checkout". Both do exactly the same thing - add item to cart and take you to the cart. The options should be "add to cart" so you can continue shopping & "checkout". How hard is that? Good luck. LMAO

I was also bothered by that "design" choice. This most likely reveals that they either have no QA/UAT (Quality Assurance/User Acceptance Testing) department or the person testing that part of the website needs to find another job. I won't blame the developer because he or she was likely told to code it that way or the requirements weren't made clear enough.

EDIT: Or the developer was given too much creative liberty and decided to troll millions of customers with an ambiguous button to draw attention to a lack of product direction.

Maybe because it's not the bulk of verizon's business they don't want to spend too much on improving their store website.

Even my order confirmation e-mail made no sense. Below the soundbar there is a line that says, "phone number you're transferring" with last 4 digital of some number I'm not associated with and then next line is my mobile number. What the hell? LMAO There is definitely some major lack of oversight on their store process.

Yes, that could be the reason it's currently being ignored (and probably has been for a long time) but let's not forget that someone is at fault for making it function that way initially, and I use the word "function" pretty loosely here...

Actually to come to think of it, I did quite a bit of shopping not too long ago on Verizon and I'm pretty sure the terminology was changed more recently.

bruhhhhhh soundstage is EVERYTHING if you are getting a MULTI CHANNEL system meant for surround sound notably for movies.

yall trusting that site going with the samsung with NO SURROUND SOUND?!? using gimmick tactics ilike others 9.1 11.1 but its only all on one soundbar?!?

Might as well not even get either. Review says samsung is better because it gets louder? lol ok put on nice movies that have great sound stage and it will lose everytime. even games, the whole point of "SURROUND" and now "ATMOS" is to be immersed in the soundfield hearing sounds surrounding you are proper queues on what you are watching to really bring you into the film/game as if you were in the theater.

if all one cares about is front sound stage, why waste it on overpriced samsung. no matter what technology and crap no one can ever replicate true positioned speakers around you with everything compressed up front on one bar.

just get that yamaha atmos receiver at costco for $300 and buy 2 speakers and a sub for another $200 and youll have also nice sound stage and it will get loud AF but at least when you are ready to hear real surround sound you have a receiver that can add more speaks.

discussions like this is like talking to those people who do have 5.1 and up systems with speakers around and put the receiver to an ALL CHANNEL DSP so each speaker is playing the same thing even on movies and claim they are watching like they are in the theatre and surround sound like how its meant to be because its LOUD lol

Bruuuh, you post all that but can't be bothered to read the whole paragraph which said EXACTLY what you did in the second to last sentence:

"That said, the JBL is better built, with better soundstage and surround performances.

I've watched several reviewers who compared the JBL 9.1 with the Samsung which has surround. Every one of them said the Samsung had better clarity. JBL is known to be like Beats- very bass heavy. Yes, the average non-audiophile doesn't care about a balanced sound but if there is good lows/bass it will seem better sounding to them.
The surrounds on the JBL based off the reviews I've seen says the surrounds and subwoofer perform better than the Samsung. Also dropouts occur less often in the JBL.

Nobody ever claimed these systems are better than separate speakers. This is a good solution for those that don't want to or can't (live in an apartment) run wires in the wall or mount speakers in the ceiling. Yes, the claim for 9.1 is a marketing gimmick when actually this JBL is a 5.1.4. It has 5 ear level speakers and 4 upward facing speakers. It created an EFFECT that replicates what separate speaker placement would sound like by bouncing sound off walls and the ceiling. It will be more immersive than just a 5.1 surround soundbar setup. Overall reviewers are impressed how well it works and it's a great option for the reasons I mentioned.

In the end for the average user who likes bass-heavy music or as you say - plays the same thing on all channels- this will be impressive. I consider myself a little better informed than the average user and I'm sure I will be impressed too. On top of all that at $450-500 this is a steal for an all-in-one ATMOS system.

I am an early bird and received my shipping confirmation on Monday. However, the package wasn't even tracking until today. I thought maybe it wouldn't even ship. Likely they were bombarded by the SD deal and I know at times their system automatically puts orders on hold to be reviewed. I imagine seeing so many similar orders of 4 chargers and the JBL soundbar might set off some red flags. LMAO Don't lose hope yet, but the reality is this was an oversight on Verizon's part. It should have never been eligible for 50% off. Hopefully they honor it, but they could start cancelling ones that didn't ship yet.
