BH will not price match this item at all with any other retailer @dealpapa, in fact they actually just raised their "instant savings" price this morning of $519 to $539.99. They are sending a automated response to any price match inquiry for this CPU. In addition I have tried this last week, only to have the same outcome as today. How did you get this to work on your end?

I think if you buy this with a BestBuy giftcard through DashDirect it'll save another 1.50%. $499 is right at the max limit of $500 though, so with tax it'll exceed it. I'd imagine it's possible to partially pay with giftcard and rest with cc.

This is a great deal on a great CPU. Got mine direct from AMD a few months ago, no regrets. Mine runs amazing on air with an NH-D15 (chromax.black). I haven't needed to undervolt/overclock yet, but there is plenty of headroom.

Not really a useful test. Puget bench isn't a CPU benchmark. It's an application benchmark. AMD outperforms in most Adobe products due to architecture differences. Most actual CPU benchmarks show alder lake ahead.

Every single CPU release I've ever seen has been met with conflicting rumors. Leaked performance data for CPUs has always been as useless as it gets. Engineering samples just aren't good indicators of performance of the final product. We don't know what stage of ES those CPUs are or even their clock speeds. It's even more the case when there is a significant architectural change as is what is happening with Alder Lake. Also, pricing has yet to be determined. If the 12900K launches as sub $600, would you expect it to be an improvement over the 5950X? Your arguments are entirely moot. It may be great, it may not be. We will find out when Alder Lake launches.

Im no Intel fanboy but Alder Lake actually looks good. That said, if it can't beat Zen 3 with more expensive memory and almost certainly more expensive motherboards it will be a dud.
