$17.14/TB for anyone interested.
I believe these are historically shuckable.

https://shucks.top/ indicates this is the best price in a long time.
I paid $189.99 bestbuy last October.
I think I'll sit this one out and wait for closer to that again.. if it ever happens

Discount code is only good for 5 items (i.e. it maxes out at $40 x 5), and I needed 8 drives (putting in a new TL-D800C 8-bay enclosure on my NAS). Placed two separate orders, hopefully goes through.

It's possible with covid, shipping, inflation, general stupidity we won't see 2019 black friday level prices again. Chia cryptocurrency prices also probably establish a floor price for drives (at least relative to Chia price) -- maybe around $5-10/TB assuming Chia is ~$200 (like it is now).

If we do see <$12/TB on 10TB+ drives later this year I'll get another 8-16 drives. It's not like I can't fill it Smilie

The HDD price increase is driven purely by chia. Just Black Friday of 2020, I got this drive for $190. And in March of 2021, you can get this for $200.

Don't forget to request the removal. Otherwise they will be spamming you 2-3 times a day with junk mail plus sell your information to the other parties.
Or filter into a junk folder or filter to auto delete.

or use a service like anonaddy and create disposable emails for anything you order online.

The above option is what I used to do, works perfect.

One more thing to note is to check if your credit card offers price protection.

Although a lot of banks have dropped this feature on their none-annual fee cards, there are still some that have it. For example, a card branded as a World Elite Mastercard offers up to 120 days of price protection. Visa Signature offers up to 60 days of price protection. Just realized I had a couple of cards with this service which I'll probably use if the price drops over the next few months.

If we do see
You could order it for $200. Most of us are still backordered.

I bought a few at 189,00 as well from Best Buy. I think demand is finally cooling, although supply issues remain and shipping issues to the US. Ill wait a bit as well to see this fall. I think we will see lower prices. But if you need this now its good price. I use them in my Synology. I remember when a 500 GB hard drive was huge. About 30 yrs I had a computer at home with a 20 meg HD.

Wow. You got me. And I am usually the king of miles points and these card programs. I did not know World Elite offers 120 days of price protection. Ill check the terms. A few years ago I killed it on Discover and Citibank. Discover even matched Black Friday. So I would buy pre-Black Friday and then match. No waiting in line or online or whatever to fight for the deal. Thanks for posting this. Most cards eliminated this. Citibank was great with the price rewind feature.

I would like to upgrade my old 4 x 6tb array, but I think my Perc H700 tops out at 8tb. Don't want to buy a $$$ retail raid card.

I checked my receipt online. The Easytore drives were 189.00. A assume the raw drive in this is about the same either way.

$15/TB is the historical 'golden mark', which means these should cost about $210. Others have reported costs around $190, which would come out to $13.57/TB.

However, I think in the last ~4 months, the best we've seen is is a single $17/TB with a couple of $18/TB showing up here and there.
(This deal is $17.14/TB, which makes it the second best offering we've seen recently.)

Personally, I am going to wait for black friday because I am guessing we'll see those $15/TB prices around then. But if you need a drive sooner, this wouldn't be a bad option to jump on.
