I have one of these and it makes a terrific cup of coffee. Not a traditional pour-over per se, but definitely better than an automatic drip hands down! These are the same one's sold in Star Bucks and made by the same company, just without the Star Bucks branding.
I wish it wasn't plastic, but of course glass and ceramic would be more $$$.
This is plastic btw

I forgot to add that I load up my laptop and do some work then grab the coffee, have to wait for it to cool also so it can vary between 20-40 minutes before the first sip.
But that's not optimal either because then your coffee has been sitting around for 20-40 minutes lol

I'm considering it, but a genuine question to those who are saying to avoid this, as it's plastic. Almost all the coffee machine parts are made with plastic, right from the hot water pipe to the coffee filter basket. It doesn't matter if you're buying a cheap sunbeam/mr.coffee machine or an expensive $150 Keurig. They still use the plastic parts. But I don't see these plastic comments in those posts.

So, I would like to know if there really is any health related issue that might come using this model compared to the other plastic coffee makers.

Not wrong. We just got this one and love it. Large enough to produce enough coffee for more than 1 person at a time.

Not sure if you knew this, but a lot of people are using pour over devices as a means to avoid having all of that plastic touching the hot water in our coffee.

Is there a permanent filter instead of disposable one for this brew pour?
I watched the video and it does need a disposable filter.

plastic and hot water doesn't sound good. I found one like it in my stash, wish I had remembered during that 18hr power outage a month ago.

Yay, Prime just delivered more coffee, maybe I'll try out mine, never opened it.
A drip machine has hot water running through plastic too. Why is everyone up and arms about plastic all of a sudden?

I was probably thinking of drinking bottles. " Higher temperature at 70 °C induced significant release of Sb and BPA."

I'm not too concerned about it, even the reusable metal filters often have plastic frame. And I rinse and reuse my gatorade bottles. I'm more alarmed with microplastics everywhere.

Yeah, when compared to pour over I can understand. As an Aeropress user trying get this whenever I feel lazy, All the talks about plastic got me worried. And questioning my plastic aeropress choice itself Frown.

Pour over will be too much of work for me. My question about the plastic concern is more directed towards the regular drip machine or Keurig vs this. Is this going to be any different than the plastic in those machines ?

I have 3 of these, it's nylon and can take the heat fine. It also fits perfectly on the top of the Hario v60. I wish oxo would sell just the drip tank for use with the v60.

Seriously, an Aeropress, which is one of the top devices in the world is plastic. My Moccamaster, one of the highest rated drip machines in the world pours through plastic and my go-to V60 is also plastic, which retains heat much better.

French press seems practical at first but disposing of the coffee is cumbersome and most people would just wash it down the drain which can cause clogging when it mixes with grease in the pipes.

I myself am getting this for work where there's no outlet readily available or permanent space for a traditional drip coffee, had been using a French press until I learned about the clogging possibility so this using filters is ideal to me.
