Am considering the 65 U6G for an inexpensive basement / exercise space set. Saw the 55 at BB and it looked good, especially for the money. Not as good as the U7G but that was in a bright showroom and the U7G is a freaking light cannon. U6G should be fine in my basement and is supposed to have good reflection handling according to it's good rtings review. Just wish BB had the 100 days trial.

The problem with the 75" U7G is that it's an IPS panel. I wish Hisense would have uses a VA like they did with the U6G. I'd gladly pay a few hundred more for the additional diming zones and higher refresh rate but I don't want an IPS panel.

The Canadian variant of the 75" U6G seems to use an IPS panel according to https://www.rtings.com/tv/discuss...om-hisense

They were saying on one of the other threads that the u6g 75 is also an IPS panel, as confirmed by Hisense. Makes sense that they aren't using two different 75" panels while trying to undercut everyone in price. For that reason I'd personally stay away from the 75's from them.

I thought that was speculation/confusion based on the rtings disclaimer that was added to the U7G. Didn't a user confirm his U6G was VA? I'm going to BB this evening to look at the display model. They claim it's up but could be a different size too probably.

Looks like Amazon has the same price with the 100 day no regrets.

I think there was one guy saying his is VA based on view angle or something but all other evidence points to IPS as far as I have read. I'm only in the market for a 65 myself but I thought it would be good to mention that the 75 is prob an IPS too like the u7 for those that may not want that or prefer VA. Confusing for the consumer for sure.

I have this TV and I'm not an "expert" but I have a decent eye for stuff like this, and mine definitely does not seem like it's an IPS panel. Pretty solid contrast and black levels..... And (unfortunately) the viewing angles are what you'd expect from VA.

That being said, even if it is an IPS panel, it still has an excellent picture and the price for 75" is great. Obviously a 120hz panel would be prefer and I'd prefer roku to android... But I'm pretty happy with mine for $1000.

Is this the best deal on a nice 75" tv, used mostly for Movies and occasionally for gaming.

I appreciate where you are coming from and it's great that you like your new TV but the consumer should be able to decide based on facts and what type of TV they prefer. Most enthusiasts are going to avoid an IPS and for good reason. This set is confirmed as IPS by Hisense. Some Amazon reviews showed light bleedy awful looking obviously IPS 75's that looked like large computer monitors. Maybe you got a good one or something but consumers should know that's probably not the average experience here.

can anyone comment about the upscaling on this tv or hi sense in general, as well as the importance of the upscaler for over the air content like the news and sports
