Best Buy has the 75" U6G marked down to $950. There's been confusion on whether this is a VA or IPS panel in the 75" size and no clear answer. rtings did appear to confirm it as a VA.

Been so tempted on this, especially being able to order it from Amazon for the same price now. Wish I knew how long it would stay at this price.

I've had my eye on this for a while now and finally bought in at this price. With rtings confirming it's a VA panel and has a rating higher than most of the front page deals on similar TV's, I think it's the best buy right now. Walmart black friday ad doesn't show anything of interest, but if there's a screaming deal on black friday, Hisense offers the 100 day no regrets guarantee.

You don't have to mess with Hisense for a return. If you purchased @ BB 10/18/21 or after, this TV qualifies for BB's Extended Holiday Returns, so you have until 01/16/22.

Compared to other TV's in a similar price range, that's really not bad

Seems ok, a little less than my 2018 TCL 6 series that IIRC could peak around 1000. However unlike my TV, most of them now including this one have a version of QLED (Hisense calls it ULED) which is really nice.

Basically the deal on this TV is it doesn't have HDMI 2.1.

I havent found the perfect 75" around 1k-1200 with HDMI 2.1. Closest is the 75U7G, with one issue, it's an IPS panel. Which itself is a tradeoff of better viewing angles for worse contrast,

Sony x90j? Yeah there's not a lot that ticks all those boxes and certainly not at this price point. I'm going to get a 65 u6g for my basement as I don't game and just want something that looks decent and has good reflection rejection. Also that's the size that was reviewed by rtings so I feel more confident that the 65 will be pretty good. Hard to know what to expect with the 75 and if it will even be a VA that performs similarly to the 65. One guy was saying on here that the 75 didn't look anywhere near as good.

I really don't know why manufacturers can't put the panel type in a spec list so there isn't so much speculation.

I think in the Rtings comments for their U6G review it was supposedly confirmed the 75" U6G is VA. It's the 75 U7G that is supposedly IPS. Of course, for some reason there is no 75" U8G. Of course though, the U6G lacks HDMI 2.1.

Like I said I'm not sure why I view the IPS as inferior, it's a viewing angles for contrast trade I try to tell myself, but I'm not buying it so far.

The TCL R646 75" is the next hope, however it's BB exclusive, is not even on their website yet, and is MSRP'd at 1799 which means it will need some good sales to get down to 12-1300. Also I'm sure noone knows if it's IPS or VA yet.

Sadly I may just have to wait yet another year. I already waited one year for HDMI 2.1 to hit a decent price/maturity. But then I decided I need 75" not 65" and that may set me back another year laugh out loud

Sadly I have this dream of enjoying the new Dune movie on my spankin new 75" set. However it's out soon and I'm not close to pulling the trigger on that sweet 75" so I guess it's not happening.

Will look into the X90j. Seems priced a little high for my range at a glance.

Got the 65" a couple of weeks ago and it's amazing for the price. Considering the chip shortage, I would say this is max $15 off where it could end up on Black Friday.

Yeah I wonder if it is worth waiting longer at this point. Risk it going up or OOS for minimal possible gain of $20 or something. Should probably just order it to make sure I get one.
