Are these IPS or VA panels?

The 55" and 65" are VA panels AND that the 75" were originally VA as well.... but didn't Hisense start to make the 75" out of IPS?

I'd love to buy it but seems the U6H is better due to the OS and some other extra features. For $100 may be worth spending it for those features.

The 75" U6H has less dimming zones that the U6G according to hisense website. I think 48 vs 60.

From what I've read in forums and in the more recent reviews the VA panels for the 75" model are no longer being produced and all of the newer ones are IPS. Below is from a review on Bestbuy on how you can tell which version you have once you take the TV out of the box.

Looking at the back of the original 350w VA version:
- it has 3 flat horizontal lines across the top half
- the upper edge of the lower half that holds the electronics is curved
- the very bottom that holds the speakers sticks out a little more
- the tag with the TV serial number is tilted sideways and says "350 watts"
- it has a 600 x 300 VESA pattern
- it has only 1 leg width option

Looking at the back of the newer 300w ADS version:
- the top half has 2 curved lines that look similar to a split letter "M"
- the lower half that holds the electronics is completely flat, including the bit that holds the speakers at the very bottom
- it has a 400 x 300 VESA pattern
- the tag with the TV serial number is level and says "300 watts"
- it has 2 leg width options

I doubt one can tell for-certain before buying, but a recent commenter on rtings posted pics of the subpixels, being RGB ordered vs BGR, which is likely an IPS ADS panel.

So I would guess the new ones being sold today are going to have an IPS ADS panel.

For a budget big screen, this U6G has taken the throne from TCL and is now the best bang for your buck budget TV. If you really want to exercise a PS5 or a XBSX then you will need to step it up to a U8G which has hdmi 2.1 (4k@120hz).

I believe this is accurate

TCL 4 series = Hisense 6 series

TCL 5 series = Hisense 7 series

TCL 6 series = Hisense 8 series

You can use the comparison tool at rtings to do a direct comparison

If anyone is considering the 65" size, you can get BB to price match via chat with BrandsMart for $598 to get a U7G. Much better specs with HDMI 2.1 and 120hz native

edit: nvm sorry. that deal is dead

Close but no cigar.

The Hisense 6 series >>>>>>>> TCL 4 series

For 2021 TV's

TCL 4 series (Rtings 6.7) ~= Hisense A6G (Rtings 6.5) --> Winner: TCL
TCL 5 series (Rtings 7.7) ~= Hisense U6G/U6GR (Rtings 8.0 U6G / 7.9 U6GR) / --> Winner: Hisense
No TCL equivalent (Rtings N/A) ~= Hisense U7G (Rtings 8.1) --> Winner: Hisense
TCL 6 series (Rtings 8.3) ~= Hisense U8G (Rtings 8.4) --> Winner: Hisense

Should roughly hold for 2022 too but I can't say for certain and not all of the 2022 tv's have been scored by Rtings.

I was speaking in terms of class & not exact features or ratings, guess I should've pointed that out.

Entry level, mid level, upper class

Idk. I scored the Vizio 7M series 70 inch for this price and am pretty happy with it. My TCL 615 crapped out on me after 3 years so I decided to try the vizio route this time.
