I bought this last week in-store at this price. It's my first shop vac, but I did plenty of homework on different brands, and the Ridgid gets high marks.

A couple of remarks…

It's relatively light for its size, so taking it up and down stairs isn't much of a problem. There is a handle on top. But there's no denying it is big. If you don't have room in your garage or ample space in a closet, you'll be better off getting a smaller 2 or 2.5 gallon shop vac.

Filters will end up being the most expensive part about this in the long run. A person pointed this out in a previous thread— nylon knee high stockings are a fantastic life hack. They're $1 at the Dollar Store and come in a two-pack. So that's four nylon socks. You just pull one sock over your filter, and clean out the stocking or replace it occasionally, and the filter itself will last a long time.

The $25 car accessory kit (reg. $50) is a must-buy. Way better hose, and the tools will get almost anything out from those crevasses you're trying to clean.

Hope that helps. Can't believe I went this long without a shop vac.

This vacuum is awesome, I bought the last deal that had the car accessory kit and am very impressed with how well it works. Definitely worth the price.

I just bought the dewalt shop vac from Costco which one is a better deal? This rigid one? I would have to buy the car deal too which is $25 as well for the rigid I paid $90 for the Costco dewalt one. $75 for rigid deal all together is not bad.

not first hand experience, but based on the customer review photos its basically a 2 foot wide garbage can taller than the armrest on your sofa. not bad if you have a garage to store it in, but not something you want to look at inside the house.

Looks like I searched "Rigid" and left out the first d. I bought this but can't attest to how good it is because it's still in the box. Don't want to open it until I move in next month.

I did have to get my Home Depot to get it off the pallet because there weren't any on the floor.
