Though I agree that there is something to be said about just getting the ad free version. It seems some people in the past have had luck chatting with Amazon reps to have them remove the ads after purchase. Citing tablet slowdown as the necessity.

That's always an option, but if anyone buys this, has a Windows based computer, and is even moderately comfortable with tech, it's pretty easy to remove the ads yourself as well as add the Google Play Store.
