Similar to
this +44 FP deal from October, but a bit less in up-front cost.
You pay $29.99 for the phone and $120 in advance for two months of the unlimited plan. So for $149.99, you get the phone and two months of service. (Edited to reflect you can no longer downgrade your service within the first two months.)
If you buy two phones at the same time, the Cricket Group Save discount applies, and the second phone will be $119.99 ($29.99 plus $90 service in advance). Your total up-front cost will be $269.98: $29.99 each for the two phones and $210 in service credit.
You can port an existing number or get a new phone number. This deal doesn't require a port.
The phone is locked to Cricket for six months.
I bought two phones in the October deal and have been very happy with them. I'm a longtime user of Moto G phones, so this was a nice upgrade.

It seems that Cricket has the Moto one 5G again. The phone cost $30 and you have to pay $2 months of $60 service which is $150 total. Better or worse depends on the way you look at it compared to the last deal where you get the phone for free if you pay 3 months of service. You can get 2 phones with the 2 month service each for $270 total.
Note that you don't have to port your phone numbers and you can get new ones in order to get this deal.

Too bad the downgrade/merge/cancel`doesn't work with these cricket promos anymore with the new terms. Was able to do this twice in recent months and keep the credit on an existing account, but apparently they cracked down on it recently by changing and enforcing the terms.

Edit. nvm. Seems 4 GB RAM only. sigh.

Apparently the downgrade no longer works for these promo phones. Folks are reported that in the iphone SE thread a few days ago.
