They also act as hearing protection, for ex the sound of the lawn mower is much less than when I just put in ear buds
These are amazing, as is this price. A go-to for lawn mowing
I've had these for a while. I'm pretty happy with them

Ive had a set for several years. Work good. Been wanting a second set but they are $50-55 in store and thats more than i wanted to pay. This price is just right.

They work good and I can listen to music/podcasts while working with noisy stuff (saw, lawn mower, leaf blower, snow blower...) or when i want the neighbors to know i cant hear them. I also use to watch TV at night when my complaining half wants it quiet. My ears do sweat up a little but thats ok. The top band sometimes bites into the top of my head if they arent adjusted right. They dont fit right under any of my welding hoods so i bought iso-tunes for that activity. I like how i can bump them off an ear to hear/talk and then bump back on, unlike plugs.

Cancelling noise is hard – like, REALLY hard. There are only a few headsets that actually cancel noise, and NONE of them are considered a hearing protector. Try to find a Noise Reduction Rating* (NRR) on the Bose Quiet Comforts– you can't, because they aren't hearing protectors. They are designed to give you a high fidelity listening experience while reducing lower frequency sounds, but they will not protect your hearing in really loud noisy environments. In fact, they could actually increase chances for hearing loss if used in a noisy environment dominated by high frequencies.

The whole idea of noise cancelling is that you are supposed to still hear things around you, just quiet the background noise. Some will provide her due to the sealing, not due to the technology, i.e. they work the same regardless if they are on or off.
If you want something that still protects your hearing and let's you hear your surroundings, you need a pair of shooting compression or clipping muffs. All sound is channeled through mini speakers and a microphone on the outside. If the noise is too loud it either compresses it so (lower db but you can still hear it) or clips it (cuts off the sound for a second or two). You can adjust the volume that you hear.
They cost significantly more but you can wear it all the time and still hear the person next to you

I've been using these for a few years. I connect to my phone via bluetooth to listen to music while mowing. They work great and sound nice. The range is short, so I have to keep my phone in my front pocket the whole time. I've never tried making a call with them - I'm not even sure if they have a mic.

One of my favs for leaf blower, mowing and especially for snow blower.

Acknowledging that the price points are very different - How do these compare to the passive and active isolation afford by something like a pair of over the ear Bose QC35's?

Shouldn't a pair of BT or wired small earbuds + regualr ear muff will achieve same result?
Quote from rijones :
I have these. The noise reduction rating isn't the best (24 dB), So when I use them with my zero turn tractor I have to crank the music up pretty high to hear it. In the end, I'm not sure that it's the best protection for my hearing. For other yard and shop tools that aren't super loud like my zero turn, they work much better. I'm glad I have them, just don't expect the kind of noise reduction you'd get with normal hearing protection ear muffs.
I have used regular hearing protection headset with my regular earbuds for podcasts and music for year while mowing the lawn. Then in June I bought Soundcore by Anker Life Q30 Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Headphones for $60. The noise canceling works great while using my lawn mower. The Bluetooth range is great. I go leave my phone on the main floor and go anyways in my two story 2600+ square foot house including the basement and not loose connection. The battery seems to last many time longer than any other Bluetooth ear bugs or small headset I have use. I have not used this 3M headset but have used the below headset. The radio reception is good but the battery life on two AA batteries is much shorter than I expected. It is also easy to forget to turn off power or accidently turn it on when handling the headset. Even with power off I think there may be a slow drain on the batteries. If there are shut off with good batteries and I do not use them for several weeks the batteries seem to be low or dead the next time I use them. So I resorted to pulling the batteries out when I am done mowing. The battery fit is tight so I have to use a flat blade screwdriver to remove them. Otherwise I was happy with the 3M version with radio. I decided long ago to not buy the 3M Bluetooth version due to poor reviews regarding short Bluetooth range.

The Q30 headset is very comfortable on my large head. I have to adjust ballcaps to their largest setting.

With 47 comments so far, I'm sure what I'm saying is a repeat - love these - hold a charge forever, Bluetooth pairs instantly, and they sound great. I use them cutting the grass, string trimming, and blowing leaves. Music makes everything better. I thought I'd find them distracting and unsafe, but I actually concentrate better without the roar of the machinery.

Just another comment that these are designed for blocking loud sounds first, audio quality is second. Think workshops, machine shops, industrial floors, construction, mowers, saws, etc. Quite different from noise cancelling. I find them to be quite good in those loud situations. This is a great price. Impressive battery life. Decent BT range but my phone is usually on me. An alternative is ear plugs and sound transducer headphones.

I need something that I can sleep in while wearing that blocks out noisy neighbors entirely. Earplugs just haven't done the trick. Could these provide total silence, or close to it?
If they're crazy loud, put in earplugs, then put these on top and play white noise. There could be a jet taking off next to your house and you wouldn't know it.

Also get good quality earplugs and watch a video on how to properly insert them.

You'd have to have really tiny buds. Most of the ones I've tried don't work.

Great product not the loudest but that's the selling point. The selling point is ear protection with plus of Bluetooth

Bought a pair. My Ryobi ones feel like they are going to squeeze my brain out of my skull.... and the audio on the Ryobis sucks. Thanks to all the reviews here I'm giving these a try!

Best $35 you will spend to protect your ears. The sound quality is not top quality, but it's good for when I am using loud power tools, lawnmower, snow thrower etc. I like my music or podcasts to pass the time and this lets me safely do that.

Protect your ears from excessive sound, don't just turn up the volume.

Just ordered these.

https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-...B097GQMGNM

DISON Bluetooth Ear muffs, 36dB Noise Reduction Safety Earmuffs, Wireless Hearing Protection Headphones
4.2 out of 5 stars 11 ratings
Price:
$25.99
I know there are only a few reviews but these look exactly like my 2017 pair which work great still. These have Bluetooth 5 upgrade and more soundproofing than before. Range on my BT 4 pair is 50 ft plus. Just could'nt order WorkTunes with so many bad bluetooth reviews.
Keep in mind these are hearing protectors first, Bose quality sound last...
