This includes using the chamberlain app to check your garage history to see at what times were your garage open & closed as well as if it was left open. It uses Google Assistant by the weird "app" method - "Hey Google, ask MyQ if my garage doors are open?."
There's a security reason why I can't open the garage door with Assistant, but they can work around it with a pin or biometric needed on phone.
They should use the regular way to integrate with GA their app sucks
I'm gonna buy a different cheap one
BTW, did you guys change battery when the Battery Alert came through in the App saying low battery/critical ? The alert then takes you to Chamberlain to buy a replacement battery
I got these alerts almost 5-6 months ago and have not changed it and things are still working.....I did buy a 4 pack just in case from Amazon but this leads me to believe that this alert is not truthful and might be a money grab. This is for the older version that I installed about 1.5 years ago.

There are generic devices on Amazon that give you true Google Home integration and rather than act as a garage remote, just connect directly to the opener like the button on your garage wall.

EDIT: found it in security settings. Must've been an update since I last fiddled around

I have both the Meross and MyQ (older gen, black box) installed on my door but only really use the Meross.

Lomota Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener Remote, Tuya Smart Life APP Control, Work with Alexa, Google Assistant, No Hub Needed https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FJ7S...UTF8&
I ordered one but have not used it yet. To open the door with Google Home, you're prompted for a verbal pin code.
1) Notifications to my watch every time the door opens or closes
2) Automatically close the door (and notify me) when the door is left open past a certain hour
3) Enables secure Amazon Key delivery
I didn't realize how much I'd appreciate these functions. The notifications in particular provide peace of mind in a couple of ways: I drive away from the house quickly now without sitting and watching to make sure the garage door closed (my watch confirms it after I'm halfway down the street. And no matter where I am in the house, I know when a member of my family has arrived home (or left, for that matter).
No subscription here. And I have not had any battery issues yet with the sensor.

This is the case with the older 889lm, but somehow it's bot possible with this device. All you can have it do is alert you when it's left open or have it automatically close at specific days or times. It's bonkers that the best feature ("close after X minutes open") isn't available.

4) To add a few more if someone is at your home that you need to provide entry to remotely.
5) Traditional garage door sensor stops working and this can be used in place.
