I really don't even understand what you're going for with that comment. A battery is going to give you 30 minutes before you lose power and that's a peak performing battery and not one that's a year or 2 old. What size battery are looking for to "weed whack" over 7 acres? The people I know with property that size sure as shit not whacking anything away from the house.

I bought one of these this summer.

I use 100 ft of 12 gauge extension cord that I bought at Costco for 37 bucks. (50x2) It reaches all corners of my 0.35 acre yard.

I had the extension cord already for a corded mower, pole saw, hedge trimmer, leaf blower, power washer, etc. I'm a corded guy because it keeps things simple.

I put 0.95 string into it. Works well. Easy to restring.

ohh man....corded mower!!! Can not even think about it.

Buy a cordless stuff and feel the difference!! You will not go back to the corded one again.

The only corded lawn equipment I have is a lawn dethatcher that I use occasionally .... it even makes me insane some times .....

People who use plug-in lawn equipment are the same that have AOL dial-up internet service. https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima.../emot-LMAO.gifhttps://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima.../emot-LMAO.gif
I live on 10 acres and find some battery powered and plug in lawn care products are very helpful and require less maintenance than their more powerful gas powered cousins. For instance a weed eater; I am not trimming a hundred feet of sidewalk or against a long street facing curb, only 20 feet along one side of a sidewalk and around a few bushes. The gas would go stale, gum up the carb, etc long before I could ever use an entire tank. Battery powered tools to the rescue.

Betting you buy tools based on the number of "CC's" and not for a specific purpose?

If all you are doing is downloading newsgroup headers....AOL dial up would work just fine.

P.S. Bet my zero turn makes your car look like NetZero Wink

Spoken like someone who just bought new cordless items. Tell us if it's enjoyable in a few years when your battery life stinks and you can only finish half your yard before recharging. Then you have to spend hundreds on new batteries. After experiencing this a few times, you'll probably say corded really wasn't that bad lol. Your body will break down and you'll be an old man before an extension cord stops working.

Thanx OP, in 4 1 Applause
Price dropped at my store to $13.77. There were just three left, so I figured that they really wanted to move them.

Can I use this on my acoustic guitar strings or does it just trim electric strings?
Sure why not? A rope would work as well.

I ordered it online and then went to the store, saw the lowered price. I cancelled my order and picked up all 9 from the shelf to give away as gifts

This trimmer available in stores for $17.17 clearance. If anyone is in the Bay Area, there are three left at Sunnyvale Lowe's.
Nevermind. it's corded. Reminder to self, do not multi-task or read clearly.

Gas lawn equipment has been banned around here. I'd rather have long grass than inhale those toxic cancerous fumes. Your grandkids will look back and say did you really burn gasoline and inhaled it back in the day? That's so disgusting.
My grandkids will look at me in awe when I tell them of the post I read online a century ago by some pretentious douche who thought the environmental catastrophe that is lithium strip mining, coupled with refining, to make pseudo-disposable batteries (with little to no cost effective recycling methods) in everything from string trimmers to baby monitors to automobiles was somehow better for the environment than the oxidation reaction taking place in a mist of gasoline and air that is combustion.

But whatever makes you feel superior.

YMMV, online it's $29 but my Lowe's in store price is $26!

This is a good deal, attached it to a 100 foot extension cord and this trimmer is a beast and cuts through tough weeds like nothing. The 5-year warranty is a big plus confirming this thing will last at least this long before it fails on you.

ha ha ... liked it.

If you are in SD for a long time, you know how to find a deal on items/batteries without spending much money !!

I have used both corded and cordless items and not going back to corded lawn items in this life !!

I can not even imagine how someone can mow the lawn with a corded lawn mower .... get a Honda gas-powered lawn mower from HD .... not that expensive and will last for 10 years (may be even 20 years) !!

Unrelated to this directly but I agree... My old Craftsman (w/Honda motor) lasted me exactly 20 years with me storing it outside & changing is oil exactly 1 time in all that time. Never knew you had to take the gasoline out when storing it over the winter & damn thing always started without problems in the spring. When that one finally died I bought another whose carburetor got clogged in the first year. I miss that old lawnmower 😩😩😩

That said, I did buy one of these from my local Lowe's for $22.49 today. This is a great deal.
