Great mesh router. Have one myself. I tested this and orbi from costco and this one has a much faster wifi backhaul. Its too bad this thing is so expensive. Didnt even really see any black friday deals for this. Cheapest i could find was $350. I also recommend using firmware 42095. Its the most stable

If you want total customization over your mesh network, this is the brand to get, but for the price you are not getting the best performing mesh units out there. The fastest system that's cheaper is the TP-Link X5700, just putting it out there for anyone looking to take advantage of a full 1Gbps over Wifi, the AX5700 can out put around 1.4Gbps over wifi to a proper client, making it 1/3 to almost 2X faster which are all around 800-900Mbps. That is without wired backhaul which would actually bottle neck unless you are using 2.5Gbps or faster port and switches.

Great mesh router. I got it for a little bit above $400 around 18 months ago and it was a great price after discount. To add more mesh node, I was considered getting one or two more but it was too expensive. I ended up getting the AX55 for $70 (after 30% off reward discount) as additional node and it works great.

Man I agree. I would like one more for downstairs - so I have all three floors covered. Can I ask you a question - can you also wire backhaul on the AX55 - or is it just wifi mesh connection? It seems like the AX55 is only two channel - and I wonder how using the 5Ghz channel for mesh may impact speeds? I will keep an eye out for AX55 at a good price. One thing I worry about the ZenWifi routers is their antenna strengths. I noticed if I walk away or go outside the connection speeds drop off drastically. I have an RT-AC88U (the 5GHz channel is toast that is why I won't be using this router), and it was strong a good distance away.

I went thru 2 sets of the TP Link X5700, and while the speeds were usually good, both units started acting up, slow speeds, satellite not working. Completely ruined HomeKit for some reason. Little to no customization for those either

They are as good as $200 TP-LINK. So i wont advise spending on these for higher speeds for extra $200

Where is this supposed $200 TP-LINK product you speak of? Surely said product you're referring to is also tri-band as well? Right?

I got these on Black Friday, and absolutely love them. I've never updated the firmware as I hear newer versions have issues.

Straight out of the box they work perfectly for me. Using wireless backhaul upstairs, my wife does video calls all day and has not reported a single issue. I pay for 400 mbs from Comcast, and constantly measure 400 mbs.

This or 3 pack Orbi 753s AX4200 from Costco or 2 router pack Nest Wifi from Amazon? Need it for home security & streaming primarily and not for gaming.

I got the TP-Link Deco X90 for $360 and it has been pretty stable. I am getting close to 900mbps on my PC in the same room as the main router, though my Xfinity service is just 800mbps! The only thing that makes me want to switch is that there is pretty much no customization on this thing. I cannot even connect to the router through web browser!

I got this a couple months back to replace RT-AX55 based mesh (2 units) and not very satisfied especially given its price. Although the single zenwifi router has much better range (almost twice as much) than a single RT-AX55 but it is very unstable. The RT-AX55 system never dropped any connections or occasional slowed down in 3-4 months I had it but this one drops connections and slows down regularly which I know is not because of ISP issues since I speed test within the asus app at those times and it reports full speed. There are several reviews on Amazon with similar feedback. Beware. If you do get it, try not to update firmware (but you are taking security risks with that though).

I have this, four nodes in total.....it's ok but there's a bug if you have verizon fios (which i have). I have gigabit speeds, 940 up/down, and you will not get that with these. Upload in particular is slower, around 3-400 at best. Yes I've tried everything, updating/downgrading firmware, replacing units, went on forums to try to see a solution, even tried a suggestion to place a switch in between, still no difference. There are plenty of features/options for this, so I believe it's a good system. But if you have Verizon fios, there's better alternatives speed wise. I was getting better speeds on their quantum router, my old orbi wifi 5 system than this.
